    AMD Processors for recording?

That is a good article but speaks to the motherboard chipset, not the processor. Good for choosing a MB but not a processor.

Try the website of the motherboard manufacturer. Often times they have driver sets for everything that is on-board.

    Here's my problem...

Judging from what you have been saying this guy is a total idiot. Don't do business with him anymore. There is a reason why he doesn't charge much and is always readily available. Not saying all who don't charge much are idiots, but this guy is. The things he has done are just not what...

    Here's my problem...

You can copy the whole image over to the new drive, OS files included. This will fix any registry key problem you might get if you tried to just copy into a new install. XCOPY should do the trick and if it doesn't you can always get a Linux floppy and copy with GNU cp. You will probably have...

    CPU and ram upgrade question...

I didn't OC my t-bird. You had to draw on the processor to do that. My MB had the dip switches that had to be soldered on with other MBs so I could easily have done it, but I wasn't about to destroy my computer for a few extra clock cycles that don't get used. The one that fried itself was a...

    CPU and ram upgrade question...

The one time I ever overclocked my computer it ruined it. When I got a T-Bird 750 this guy at a computer store was like, "Why don't you overclock you idiot?!" I just wanted to smack him around. At any rate, those things run hot enough as it is and I have bad experience with overclocking...

    CPU and ram upgrade question...

There is no reason why it shouldn't but it could fail by design. XP uses those damn activation codes and if you change certain things on your computer it makes you have to activate again. It is my understanding that the CPU is one of those things. It probably won't do it automatically either...

    Squier Guitars: Worth Supercharging?

Spend the money you would have spent replacing all the hardware on your Squire on a G&L Tribute. They are miles above what you have.

Just added another hard drive, now issues.....

Have you tried unplugging the main HD and seing what happens? Does it then get to the point of complaining about not having a boot device instead of complaining about the video? If you can't quite tell (maybe it pukes before getting far enough) try actually replacing the main HD with the new...

this is not a recording question...yay

I can't imagine that it would be a whole lot more than a POD, which works on a similar principle but has specialized hardware. PODs are software effects is what I mean.

    requesting small studio audio examples

There is one called 'dog jam' that is a BT made by someone else and he used a machine of some sort I think. Otherwise all of the drums are software unless you are talking about the ones on the guitars101 site and then I don't know because most of those are with BT's that were made by other...

    requesting small studio audio examples

AMD64, SB Live, Art mixer, some recordings with behringer mics, others are direct. Software is Linux based (Ardour, hydrogen, etc). http://www.soundclick.com/noahroberts/ http://www.guitars101.com/jamroom/bands/18/ There are others floating around on other people's sites and some that are not...

    USB Soundcards?

I am wondering if these things are worth anything. My computer is developing some hassles and really to tune it up to where I want I would be replacing a lot of it. Most of the fans, the PS, the soundcard, etc. I also wouldn't mind getting rid of the CRT. So I was thinking of maybe looking...

    What can i do with 2 AMD Athlon xp ( 1800+ and 2500+ )

Not with the software you are using for sure, and possibly not with any. Linux will cluster, which is what you are wanting, but I don't know of any Windows clustering...not like that anyway. At any rate you don't end up with a 3.3 anyway. You do get faster and more responsive but not by that...

    What can i do with 2 AMD Athlon xp ( 1800+ and 2500+ )

I'm pretty sure they have to be balanced also. I've never designed an MP computer so haven't really studied it but I am under the impression that all the processors need to match pretty closely. It also pays to have an MP processor, no? I think you *can* use an XP but it is better to have the MP.

    Yamaha AW16G + Mbox + protools = ?

Yeah, my drummer has one and it took us a while to figure out but you can use an 'export' function to burn all 16 tracks to a data CD as seperate wav files. This isn't standard with this type of device? I assumed it would be there and hunted it down and finally found it.

    Yamaha AW16G + Mbox + protools = ?

Your plan appears to be viable. The Yamaha appears to export in 16 bit 44.1kHz. This is standard CDROM sampling rates. My editor has projects in a certain mode based on settings for the project...other formats have to be imported and resampled. So if my project was set up for 24 bit then the...
