Okay raising the volume doesn't exactly fix the problem I wanted to fix.
After listening to more studio quality music, I realized my "songs" don't really sound like songs. The vocals sound too distant and don't have that fullness feeling. Any ideas? I attached the song again with the volume...
I have different reverb plugins if that is what you mean? I did compress the vocals a bit.
I'm aiming to have the beat not overpower the vocals as much but usually when I try turning up the vocals, it becomes unbearable at high volumes (I don't mix it well I guess)
Thanks for your help so far...
Thanks to the amazing people on this forum, I gained some knowledge about recording at home. I moved out of my walk-in closet and now record in a small bedroom, ensure that I don't clip the audio, and have been learning new things about mixing.
This is my latest song/remix. The beat was already...
Title says it all, where should I place my microphone in a bedroom? Room is untreated, I'll probably be working on that in the future though.
Thanks!

I'm looking for a relatively good AI that a guy on a budget could afford. It would be used with either an Apex 530 or AT2035, for male rap vocals in my bedroom! Any suggestions!?
I have the choice of getting either the Apex530 or AT2035 from a friend. It would be used strictly for male rap vocals, in a bedroom that is currently untreated but may be improved acoustically in the future. Whichever microphone I choose will be the second mic I own after the Blue Yeti, which...
Neither have any acoustic treatment.
The closet is probably 7-8 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 8 feet high. It's got hundreds of clothes on two of the sides, the door is on one side, and the other side is bare.
The bedroom is probably 13 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 9-10 feet high. It has a Queen...
Hey! I'm a 17 year old rapper and I've only recently gotten into writing and recording songs! I was given the Blue Yeti as a gift by some friends and they kind of just bought it because it seemed like it would do the job. At the time I thought it would too, and was perfectly happy with it. Now...
It might be my loudness..
How do I know when my recording is -18dB?
I'm using an internal soundcard and yes the mic is the USB Blue Yeti. Any recommended mics around the same price range ($150?) and recommended interfaces?
Hi, I've been writing music for a while now and have recently been trying to record my own songs/covers.
My issue with what I'm recording is the quality. I know this is EXTREMELY broad but I myself am not sure where I am going wrong.
I have attached the raw vocals, mixed vocals, and mixed...
