This song was easy to connect with. Bring up the lead vocals and the bass. Her voice will be quite powerful when she hits her late teens. Find her a good vocal coach if she stays interested.
This song has good bones (lyrics, melody, and vibe). Add bass and sparse out the percussion to help the acoustic guitar shine. If you can get your brother to sing the second chorus with you then go for it.
I am right brain dominant and can recommend two activities to help flip the switch:
1. Write when you first wake up (preferably after a nap).
2. Create distractions with very focused activities to prevent forcing the muse. I play scales on guitar and carve fishing decoys.
Are Mackie Onyx preamps adequate to use behind a Shure KSM353 ribbon mic? I would use it for vocals (using a KSM9 for now). Thank you for the feedback.
I have a Mackie 820i that interfaces fine with my laptop. Could I effectively buy a Mackie 24.4 and route it through the 820i to record 16 channels live into my computer? Please comment on the advantages and disadvantages. Thank you for help.
The bass is now helping to ground the song. Listen for the quiet passages (e.g. I will put my trust in you) and accent the message by leaving something out or possibly bringing it way down.
