Hi All New Here i need help with plug in for Ableton

I think I can help with this misunderstanding; "PLUGINS" are going to be added BY YOU, installed typically by downloading them from their makers. These will typically be installed into; C:\Program files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins for 64 bit systems or, C:\Program files(x86)\Steinberg\VSTPlugins for...

    Drum-roll please!

ok I posted this in "MIDI Mania" so I might be getting spanked for making a dupe... sorry I didn't even KNOW there WAS an Ableton forum! (I subscribed!) Midi is an entirely new thing for me but exciting! "Voice" it with a kit and I'm a...

    Drum-roll please!

Midi is an entirely new thing for me but exciting! "Voice" it with a kit and I'm a drummer! OK I know there HAS to be a way to do this the way I want to; OK so I use a cheapo MIDI keyboard to do my drums (no push button pads. Can't do it.) So, what I want to do is set up my grid so that I can...

Why are my songs still quiet after mastering?

Oh Option 2; Import your "lossless" file format into Audacity (freeware.) Note that the wave form only takes up a small-ISH portion of the tracks height (volume) Now go Effects > Amplify. it will give you a suggestioin of how much to add in db. Try accepting that or bump it 0.5db. MAKE SURE...

Why are my songs still quiet after mastering?

PUSH! with compression on the master volume in your DAW PUSH with compression on the MASTER mixer channel; "Makeup gain" ... Watch your meters; Input should stay below -10db, makeup goes up until you're just below your clipping warnings on your peak/RMS indicators. Then export a master of the...

Input Volume leveling / microphone input levels-Singers "Play" their Mics.

DM60; Can the Vocal Rider work on a track that's already recorded? OK I've done better than I'd expected but there are some songs and passages that I've tried Live9's automation on to balance the volume levels and it works fine, but automation in Live9, while powerful is NOT EASY to set up, nor...

Input Volume leveling / microphone input levels-Singers "Play" their Mics.

Live 9 is my DAW of choice, (I don't do "easy") and for EQ/MASTERING I routinely use the Focusrite 64bit "Freebies" Red 2 (EQ) and 3 (compression) OR... Sometimes the "Scarlett" plugins; EQ/Verb/Gate & compression. Live also comes with a bunch of (albeit "thin on extras") mix/mastering...

Input Volume leveling / microphone input levels-Singers "Play" their Mics.

Wow! Yeah the 2i2 is a "Gen 1" but I'm using the "Gen 2" ASIO drivers (at Focusrites suggestion) through Live9 so it might be up to the task as you've instructed me. THANKS A MILLION! Normally I'm better at "Non-Linear thinking" but I never even considered using a lower input volume and...

Input Volume leveling / microphone input levels-Singers "Play" their Mics.

The subject today gentlemen and gentlewomen is; Is there a VST or SOMETHING I can use to "normalize" (adjust the volume level) the input volume of an old fashioned Mic, like an old Sure (the kind I'm Sure  you've seen hundreds of in concerts, on stage and in video's) or maybe a Unisphere...

Help please with mastering for newcomers

Dear GearShift, I've been a musician all my life (50 years) and just a year ago started with Ableton Live, A Scarlett 2i2 USB interface and all the instruments I have posted in my signature... I've written hundreds of songs and have 7 "in the can" (mastered and ready to burn) at this point. I'm...

Help please with mastering for newcomers

Dear "Gearshift..." I'm brand new to mastering, I have seven songs under my belt (a month apiece) and I'm 60... as in years old. I wonder if you realize how childish you seem to people (who have been exceedingly decent and nice to you btw) While you're asking them to "Take my song and master...

    Headphone question

I have the Sennheiser HD 280 PRO phones... MONSTROUS!!! Finally, my mixes started to sound right across ALL players! Freq response is the key; Human hearing ranges (with bell curve exceptions) 20Hz - 20KHz. The Sennheiser HD 280 PRO phones do 10Hz - 25KHz, and are NOT skewed to be "BASS...

Please help - cant adjust buffer size in Ableton when using A Scarlett 2i4

AHA!!! But that is for YOU on YOUR system now! I had the same problem as the one I responded to; The driver can be adjusted (in milliseconds, NOT buffer size??!?!?!) and ALWAYS defaults to 10ms with HUGE latency. THIS IS A GEN1 (first generation driver) and I and I suspect you had also... You...

Please help - cant adjust buffer size in Ableton when using A Scarlett 2i4

I know this is an old thread but I've had the same issue with Win8.1 / Scarlett 2i2 / Ableton Live 9 I am wondering if this can be avoided by using another ASIO driver? I used a driver called; ASIO4ALL (or some version of that) and had no problems before installing the Focusrite (Scarlett) drivers
