    MY8-AD card any one?

+4 is the loudest. You cannot adjust the levels using the preamp controls (since the preamp does not go to this card.) It is reccommended you use a preamp to go into this card... Steve www.burgundyband.com

Speeddemon, We seem to want the same items!! I'm looking at a Joe Meek Twin Qcs and an AT4033 myself. I've come to those decisons by researching in stores and various forums. I haven't tried the Meek, but I'm curious enough to give it a shot since no store around here carries one... Good...

Anyone have thoughts on the Yamaha AW4416?

The converters are 24 bit on the 4416, plus you can record 16 tracks at 24 bit fidelity. Steve PS---Darren...didn't you have a Korg D1600 before? (I thought I read that in a previous post anyways)

Anyone have thoughts on the Yamaha AW4416?

On the 4416, you have pans you can touch. There are 4 dials to the rightof the LCD screen: 3 are for EQ and 1 is for pan. To adjust pan on track 3, for instance, you hit the track 3 button and then adjust the pan. Same with the EQ. That's it!! Motorized faders are great, especially when...

Anyone have thoughts on the Yamaha AW4416?

Green Hornet, When you create the stereo track, make sure you save the song after or it wont show on your song list when you 'master' to cd. I've found the unit fairly easy to use and haven't had the need or 'pleasure' of reading the manual. I just used it as a reference and it seems ok. I...

Some quick good stuff with the Yam2816

Chris, You can archive your work to CD, though I haven't done this yet, I know it can be done. I've use an SM58 beta and didn't have any problems. I read that thread, but the only noise I heard is if the trim was turned all the way up. Steve

    Roland vs-2480

hey green hornet i have the y56k card and it is AWESOME!! i just recorded my first session with drums (7 mics), keys (2 channel stereo) and vocals (separately) at 24 bit and it came out great. it came out even better when i used the L1 ultramaximixer and renaissance eq on the waves card for...

    Roland vs-2480

i have the yamaha aw4416 myself, but think that the 2480 is great as well. before you buy it, just know that they have the 2480cd coming out which included cd burner and 80 gig hard drive. that unit is supposedly coming out in april. i don't know what price you've seen it for, but i've seen the...

    waves y56k for yamaha aw4416

thanks, green hornet. i just may do that. Steve PS-if you need more XLR mic inputs on the 2816, yamaha has the MY4-AD, which gives 4 more XLRs in addition to the two on board. I just picked one up myself. They sell it at www.zzounds.com/a--2676837 for $259.

    DAW..Roland vs Korg

I think for the price of the korg $1599 + cd burner $100 it is better than the roland. I personally went for the yamaha aw2816, which for $200 more has automation, better eq and cd burner included. Much more upgradeable than the others especially with that option slot and waves card. Steve

    Azsxdrfvgbhnjik<l>:?"{}|

Or you can get a cheap 2 channel mixer (maybe $50) with 2 phono inputs and two outputs. 1 set of outputs to your tape deck (rca in) and the other pair to your pa mixer. Steve

    Azsxdrfvgbhnjik<l>:?"{}|

You need an amplified phono pre-amp (about $30) to plug in between your turntable cable and your tape deck rca in. then take the rca out from the tape deck to the rca in on your pa. Hit record and pause on your tape deck to monitor the sound. cheers. Steve

    DAW's.... Which one to get

I changed my mind and decided on 16 tracks. I was going to pick up the korg d1600 until i saw the yamaha aw2816. More difficult to use than the korg, but not much. I know I spent $1000 more than I originally wanted to but I feel it is worth it. Automated mixdowns plus snapshots are great. PS...

    DAW's.... Which one to get

I like the Korg D12. Extremely easy to use and flexible with effects. Nice size display for editing wave data. If you can find a Korg d16 around for about a grand, that may be worth it. The small hard drive (2.1g) is the only negative on that. fostex vf16 looks nice but does not do 24 bit. (I...

    yamaha aw2816 vs 4416

my personal comparison shopping right now i'm just fiddling with the preset song and being hypnotized by the motorized faders. I also like the fact that i can use it as a controller for cubase vst32. I don't think I need Houston now. I originally picked up a Korg D12 and was happy with the...
