    VS2480 or AW4416

The Yammy has 8 pres. Soundwise it is better than the Roland. I know this because I've tested them both. The pres actually are sub-par on both units.

    Groove Tubes GT55 & GT 67

I have a GT66, which is like a GT67, but with a single pattern. It's an excellent mic, but I've not compared it to the AT4033. Unlike the GT55, the GT66 and GT67 are tube mics. Steve www.burgundyband.com

    Yamaha 2816 /mic problem

The preamps on the Yamaha AW2816/4416 are relatively weak. An external preamp like the Studio Projects VTB1 or M-Audio DP3 sell for about $200 and would improve the sound greatly. Steve www.burgundyband.com

    Please review this song...

Thanks for the responses guys. The songs are indeed originals. I know I went a bit(!) crazy on the compression, but that was to compensate for the original recording sounding very 'peaky,' plus I'm rather new to recording. I'll be rerecording this soon, so I'll know what to look for. Thanks...

    Gt55

Don't know much about the gt55, but i have the gt66 and think its great. I believe they are different beasts anyway since the gt55 is not tube, so my response is rather useless except to point out that Groove Tubes makes nice mics. Steve www.burgundyband.com

Logitech trackball mouse dosen't work on AW4416?

I had bought a mouse for my 4416, that seemed to be opened, but didn't say 'serial' on the box as the connection. I bought the 'serial' adaptor and it still didn't work. I retured it and bought a mouse that was 'serial' and came with the connector and has been running fine ever since. Steve

    Any1 tested/used Meek VC1Q vs. En-Voice?

I ordered the TwinQcs for $745 from www.soundpure.com. Should be here this Wednesday... Still deciding between the AT4033 and the SP C3, however... Steve www.burgundyband.com

    MY8-AD card any one?

The inputs should be fine for line sources like a keyboard or sound module, but if you use a microphone, you will need an external preamp. Steve

    MY8-AD card any one?

The inputs on that card are not connected to the internal preamps on the yamaha 4416. Preamps bring the mic level up to the volume of line level, thus making it louder. The only way to get a good level using those inputs is to purchase an external preamp. An economical choice is the Midiman...
