Looking for a harmonizer plugin - RTAS for PC

Trying to find a split harmonizer plugin for ProTools LE - so far the closest thing I got is Ultra Pitch by Waves - any other ideas?

Mix It Like A Record - My review...

Yeah - If you are interested in hearing and seeing how people get a pro sound in the DAW world - you have to check it out. People with less than an PT HD system have to be a bit creative to get similar results due to processing power and plug in resources, but it isn't impossible. Charles is...

Occassional Horrid squelching noise during playback

This has happened to me inexplicably. I equate it to the interrupts or a glitch in the system while triggering certain plug-ins. For instance, I was switching a Waves plug-in to another plug-in while playing the track in question. Next thing I know my ears are fried. I am sure there is a...

Mix It Like A Record - My review...

My MILAR DVD came in and I spent the weekend watching it - about 2 times -then jumping to sections that interested me the most. To preface this review, let me say that I have had experience recording and mixing in a major studio on a SSL - not as an engineer but as an artist. I know what a...

Drum submixes - some advice please

The dyn feature can be used as listed before - making a track inactive so that later you can activate it and tweak it - or disable it during a mix to free up voicing for more tracks. I have been using this during sessions to concentrate on my active tracks. The stem mixing is another way of...

Drum submixes - some advice please

Rock. I think Sushimon is on with that. I have disabled tracks during recording to keep CPU low - but I haven't made that a dynamic part of the mix. I may do that when I mix down so things stay fluid. I pretty much have the same config - ProTools LE + MBOX.

Drum submixes - some advice please

So I could submix my drums - bounce them to a stereo track - and leave the individual tracks "off" so that they won't tax the processor? That way I can have them available in the session if the need arises to go back and edit them? I think that's what you are saying.

Drum submixes - some advice please

ProTools LE - MBox hardware. My computer is pretty fast - but the more plugins the more processor intensive it becomes. I don't know if ProTools LE has freeze?

Drum submixes - some advice please

You leave the drums as individual tracks? What are the other submixes you do?

Drum submixes - some advice please

Figured as much. Is this a pretty common practice?

Drum submixes - some advice please

Ok - I am thinking about putting my drums down to a stereo track as a submix. They sound good now - compression, placement, verb. Anything that I should keep in mind before doing this? If my mix changes, I suppose I will have to redo the drum session and do another submix. I just need to...

    Headphones

I only use headphones when recording parts - guitars etc. And when I am writing. The ones I have are decent just way too bass-ey. And if I start mixing with them, I find I have to re - eq everything when listened to through the monitors. As they are saying above, better to not use them for...

    Mix it like record

My copy should be here on Thursday. I have heard several people rave about it and others say it isn't all that. As to editing style - I saw enough in the preview to see why some people find it hard to watch. I am in production - so I can why/how they did the video in that style. Hoping...

    McDSP AC 1 & 2 plugins - worth it?

Thanks for the tips! Yeah - When I recorded my old band's EP at Luminous Sound, we put all the drums and guitars to a Studer reel - made things sound very rich without being obvious - I guess that is the beauty of tape compression. Everything went to master on 2 reels as well. Do you think...

    McDSP AC 1 & 2 plugins - worth it?

So the full version is tits? Ok. I didn't know it had the RTAS compatibility. Every channel huh? I was going to throw it on the stereo mixdown bus and see if it helped.

    McDSP AC 1 & 2 plugins - worth it?

Is there an alternative if it blows that badly?

    McDSP AC 1 & 2 plugins - worth it?

I am thinking about getting the LE versions. Anyone else use these? Do they really improve the quality of your overall mix?

Izotope Ozone 3 plugin - latency problems?

I think I may just stick to using it for a mastering plug in.

Izotope Ozone 3 plugin - latency problems?

I threw the Izotope Ozone 3 plugin on a vocal track and used the Vocal treatment preset - it sounds pretty good. However, it makes the track latent by a second or two. I think it may have something to do with the Harmonizer section. Anyone explore this issue or is this native to using a...
