    Opinions on a demo cd!!

Holy Cow! "A Sign of Weakness" made me think of Thin Lizzy. (Yeah, I'm dating myself) These sound good, though I would personally use a bit more bottom end and a little less emphasis on the highs and mids.

please tell me whats wrong /right with these

I really enjoy these tunes. I had the opportunity to play a concert with Willie several years ago. Crazy is one of my all time favorite tunes. Ok mate... Here is my input. Well done. Excellent musicianship. A very cool retro vibe. I suggest the following changes: The reverb. I don't know...

TLM49... Holy bat guano Robin... you WILL be owned.

 I'm sorry, I don't understand what that has to do with this. You're pissed at Neumann, so anything they do is crap? That's kind of what I'm getting out of your contribution to the thread. It certainly is your God given right to feel that way, I just don't think it's a logical...

TLM49... Holy bat guano Robin... you WILL be owned.

From years of reading postings here, it is clear to me that the vast majority of folks here are hobbyist and do not derive their primary source of income from recording. This is not meant as a derogatory comment, but rather as a factual statement. I myself am more songwriter/musician, then...

TLM49... Holy bat guano Robin... you WILL be owned.

Uh yeah :D ... Perhaps you might actually get one of these in your hands and just try it. I don't mean that in a snide or rude fashion, but this is a darn good mic. If you can find a single negative comment on the web about this mic, post a link. My assessment is pretty much shared by many...

Joe Meek Twin Q Advice? Thanks for opinions...

Mine is brand new and is flawless... I use the digital outs into my Onyx digital in. No hiss, no problems. This is a really good pre. However.... I just bought a new Presonus ADL 600, so I will be selling this in the next week. Nothing at all wrong with it, but I simply don't need it. I have it...

TLM49... Holy bat guano Robin... you WILL be owned.

I will stand by my assessment of this mic. I think it will be the biggest hit for Neumann in 40 years. I believe that the AT4050 was set on cardoid on the original track. I can't think of a reason I would have tracked that vocal on omni or figure 8. (Thought the more I listen to the AT 4050...

TLM49... Holy bat guano Robin... you WILL be owned.

Yeah... So I bought one of these this past weekend. I have a number of mics already, but I was really intrigued by the clips I heard. Got her into the studio, hooked her up, and started tracking. Holy batcrap Robin! I'm an old fart. I've been around the block a time or two. I've been using the...

    A Memory That Won't Fade

David, Thank you very much. I am a "classically trained" pedal steeler, in that I trained in all the classic animal lodges... you know, elks, moose, etc. ;) I enjoyed your music immensely. I play fiddle very poorly but am fortunate to work with some of the best Texas has to offer. My pedal steel...

    A Memory That Won't Fade

Ok.... I took all of the doubling and Lex reverb off. I also took off all the eq on the vocal. It sounds much more natural now. See what you think... Oh, I used an EMT 250 sample for the verb on this mix.

    A Memory That Won't Fade

Thanks guys.... I spent so much time with the mix that I lost all objectivity. Today the vocal sounds metallic and harsh... too midrangy. It's the eq on the verb I think or too much midrange. I'll hit it tonight and loosen it up a little. The mic is a AT 4050 going into a Joemeek Twin Q. I may...
