    Studio Monitors in Small Rooms

I have read same about monitors and walls, where closer to wall can actually help tame bass frequencies. Bass Traps, of course, are always good. Not knowing your budget, the Focal Alpha 6.5s are really quite good as are the JBL-308MkIIs. I've owned both.

    Bedroom studio suggestions

My 2-cents I'd center your desk on the 4.91 m wall and use smaller close-field monitors along with Open Back Headphones as per Mike B. Not sure of your budget but these small monitors (JBL 305P MKII) sound incredibly good for the price and a matching sub-woofer is available if needed later...

    Microphone Advice

Some Mic suggestions and Signal Chain Suggestion. I owned the Lauten Audio LA-320 ($499) and it is a really nice multipurpose mic for the money. It does have some noticeable tube coloration but it's not like "47" capsule coloration. I sold that and bought a second WARM AUDIO WA-14 ($499). The...

    Recent additions.

I bought a wa14 and a lauten-audio la320 and put them through my Focusrite Clarett 8preX. On acoustic guitar, the la320 was brighter but boomier. The wa14 was more midrangey with a smoother lows and highs. Same followed suit on my voice. Both "street" at $499 and are both good mics albeit the...
