Micro Lynx + Tape Deck + DAW

I tried to locate the error codes, too but my manual only lists the error categories 00xx -> System, 88xx -> AGC card for example. I don't think I'm going to compare the units just because I'd be to scared of frying the only system unit I have left. I don't think I can just call Timeline Service...

Hey Henry, all good, all good! Yeah, I find myself coming back to this place from time to time. Somehow it doesn't feel just like "some forum". Some really nice people hanging around here :) How are you doing? Cheers Tim

Micro Lynx + Tape Deck + DAW

I started to get Capstan errors and the ATR didn't want to sync anymore; then a communication error. I checked connections and accidently disconnected the keyboard without powering down the system unit prior to that. After that I got 0016 and 0018 errors on startup and a communication error here...

Micro Lynx + Tape Deck + DAW

Hey Miroslav, I've been away for some time -> all work, no play... But your post made me reactivate thy micro lynx and set up the DAW and ATR connection again, since I don't have any ties to video and you wanted input on an audio only use case. I've been on vacation for a week or two and since...

    working with loops Addictive Drums

You can just turn off all the effects and send every output of the AD plugin (snare, bass drum, each tom, room...) to separate channels of your DAW. It's described in the manual. I did that with Reaper and what you get is an AD channel with multiple outputs. Then all you got to do is "rewire"...

Refurb M3500 into an M3700, or M3700 into an M3500....?

Hey Robert, I have an ATR-60/16 which is balanced only. I discussed bypassing the balancing on the machine here, because internally it runs unbalanced. I have not had any time to get to it though and I'm still not sure I want to mess with the deck. Also, I don't want to buy 4 of those 8 channel...

Refurb M3500 into an M3700, or M3700 into an M3500....?

I just noticed I still had some Fader Lube references on my homepage. I updated the page to not mislead someone into using the wrong stuff for that board.

Refurb M3500 into an M3700, or M3700 into an M3500....?

Please stop posting pictures. Up until now I was happy with my M-3500. Now I need a balancing kit. And an M-3700. Ok, won't happen, so please go ahead. ;) Wait! I'll give you $400.00. So you make 200% and I get a bargain. I let you even keep the stand, hehe... The dishwasher worked really well...

Another Mixing Contest: Back By Popular Demand

I'll probably have some free time to give some feedback next weekend, too. Even if you don't want me to ;)

    Online re-amping service

If it's not too much to ask, could you post both the original and the reamped track once you're done? I'm really curious about the results/differences! Just if you're not too busy. Cheers Tim

    Online re-amping service

Yep, you could do a shootout and people would do it for free. The more specific you are describing in what direction you want to go sound wise, the better the outcome. There will be more people here with amp simulations, some free, some commercial; some might even have the ability to reamp a...

    why people build studios

Because it's not a simple thread, but a poll. And when someone polls without posting, the last modified time of the poll is still updated which looks like there's been a post. Cheers Tim

DA Converters for an LA-610 MKII

The LA-610 Mk II has a +4dBu line level input on the back. Just switch the input selector to "Line" if you want to use it. I used it as an effect successfully via my trusty old Delta 1010 card. Just make sure you converter features balanced I/O (TRS or XLR) and you should be fine. You might need...

Refurb M3500 into an M3700, or M3700 into an M3500....?

Might be the case with the 8 bar meter bridge but the 32 bar meter bridge can either show 32 inputs, 32 tape ins or aux 1-6 on bars 17-22 and group 1-8 on bars 25-32.

Refurb M3500 into an M3700, or M3700 into an M3500....?

Yep, he went with a combination of 2604s and 2134s (which are lower in price than the 2132s) if I remember correctly and he was certain that it made a great difference. As I said already, I found I couldn't make out a difference but that may be my ears. I linked all three archived threads from...

Refurb M3500 into an M3700, or M3700 into an M3500....?

Don't be too enthusiastic about the chip tuning, I did 4 channels and the master section on my M-3500 with BB OPA-2132 and I didn't really notice a difference to the stock chips. It may be my ears are missing some training or the monitors are not up to par (Yamaha HS80M active) but I simply...
