Analog Newbie needs help with Tascam 38 and Tascam M2600MKII24... Where to go?

Welcome Middlecreek. Two words..user manual. It will get you familiar with the unit, and it's intended purpose. Next best..time to experiment. That recording book should help too. OT: Another ridiculous Ebayer (competing for the flower pot award.)

The guy has a positive feedback score of 564! Think he knows something as a seller? We don't? I gotta laugh this whole thing only reinforces my gripe. This guy realizes by the time he pays ebay their seller fees, and ebay again, for paypal, and then pays the shipping fee error. He will clear...

    Sticky Calibration Tape

I have a Cal. tape for 1" machine. It is for 15 ips. It is sticky, and would probably be OK if baked. I'm wondering is this of any value? I know these aren't cheap. But I also know, these are not used that often. Thanks

    TASCAM Wallpaper

Yea, seems a little high for a mid 80's cassette deck. I only mentioned the sticky status as I recently wanted to check the thread, and well..honestly ..I forgot the title, and where it was. But just for a brief second.. mind you! I was looking all over..and well I finally found it. Curious...

I still don't understand why this Thread isn't added as a sticky! Anyway, great work as always..Jeff. This unit seems to be of the same era as my X2000R Reel to Reel. I recognize some similar design characteristics.

Thanks Jiff. But... I think the layout is different in in the Imperial theme, and not covered in the Reaper manual. Maybe I'm wrong, but I couldn't get the same response from the Imperial theme as the Reaper videos that I have studied.

    Teac X2000R

Thanks wkrbee. I will look at that. I haven't heard anything from the buyer in a few day's since I offered to pay up to $200 to have a (different) local Tech take a look at it, and possibly fix it. I also downloaded the service manual, along with the schematics sheets. I see the Bias OSC (U307)...
