The beauty of these videos, is as you get more familiar with the mixer, the more the videos make sense. There’s always something new to learn.

Here’s a take on how and why AI destroys creativity.

I hope it's ok that I make this point

A big part of that is the fact that there’s a whole industry of paid workers in TV and movies. And they’ve taken a lot of hits over the last decade or so. Not so many paying gigs in the music business unless you’re in the big leagues. AI isn’t really hitting the wallets of musicians…….Yet...

I hope it's ok that I make this point

As we go further into the technology “abyss” the more skills we ourselves lose. If every meal in your life is cooked or prepared for you by someone else…..well, sooner or later you can’t cook anymore.

    Treble bleed circuit

I don’t know if any of the guitars used in this video have bleed circuits…… but Bret brings up some interesting points about bringing up the gain on your amp while having your volume lowered. With the volume pot rolled back the clean is pretty sparkly, and when turned up you have nice...

    Treble bleed circuit

Over years I’ve played around with lots of different values in the circuit and always ended up taking them out. I guess (for me) they always sounded a bit brittle for lack of another term. But it ain’t gonna kill you to try it, you may like or even love it. Don’t let others shy you away.

    Treble bleed circuit

Only one way to find out…. Try it. Personally I’ve never been a fan of the treble bleed circuit. Your experience may differ.

    SM7db Fake Chinese

Sort of wrong….. maybe. Then again, a good tool is a good tool. But I think the real ‘wrongness’ would be with deception.

Guitar 'truths" that you believe are myths

Heritage is a guitar company that works in the original Gibson facilities, including original Gibson equipment along with some of the original employees. (Although they have been retiring and dying off) One could say they’re OG. The place has the DNA of the golden age of Gibson. They should be...

    Up for a new amp...

I had a song that some stuff that needed fixing. (Guitar track) only problem was I no longer had the Soldano I originally recorded the track with. Long story short….. a couple of knobs turned on the 11rack Soldano preset and bam! Nailed the sound.

    Up for a new amp...

I have one, and while many consider it ‘dated’, it does the job quite well. They’re cheap too now because of the ‘dated’ false stigma. I got mine mint with box and all paperwork for 200 bucks. Hell, at that price it’s worth it just for all the effects. Very easy to use as well. Another...

Small room with an offset Fireplace... -What to do?

Speaker stands concrete blocks? Unpainted concrete stands look eh, unfinished. Painted they would look artsy. I say go blue, a gloss blue with the wood on the top and bottom black. You already have lots of black in there. :)

Small room with an offset Fireplace... -What to do?

I think it’s a lovely room. Acoustics can always be overcome. But having a comfortable room is priceless. I’d rock it! Plus, having a fireplace? Cool!
