    TASCAM M3500....just picked one up!

Interesting point about the leads to the faders. On my M3500, there is a lead from the channel strip that connects to a small circuit board that divides the channel bucket from the fader bucket. There is then a second lead, this time coming from the fader, that connects to that same board...

    TASCAM M3500....just picked one up!

Ha! No reason to apologize for a long post. We love that stuff around here :) When I first took apart my M3500 and M3700 I made a spreadsheet of all the wire destinations, cut them out individually (It looked like confetti...), and taped them to the wire itself. It took ages but saved me a lot...

    Son Of Tascam 58 Story...

These projects take time. Cory will, no doubt, update as he makes progress and has time. If you look at the time-lines on the other threads, they happen across many months and it could be weeks before Cory has time to complete some work, take pictures and then post. As Alton Brown used to say...

Is there some kind of tape deck that writes and reads rather than having to rewind.,

So, let's talk about good machines for this. I have an Otari MTR-10 that, I think... can do this. Do you guys know of other decent machines that aren't out of reach for us little guys? I think the Otari 5050 can do this as well, some versions at least have the heads. Sadly, I believe my...

    Son Of Tascam 58 Story...

Really excited to see a 'Story Of...' thread Cory! I've got some kit here in my menagerie that could use the Cory touch. Perhaps you could start repairing gear to fund your own pet projects :)

    TASCAM M3500....just picked one up!

A lot of my recording work starts away from my studio, since I don't have a decent space setup at home right now. I am planning to move to a Focusrite Control 2802/Audient ASP2802, plus my 5 Tascam M-1Bs for additional monitoring. I have two fully working boards, though some switches/pots are a...

    TASCAM M3500....just picked one up!

I have both an M3500 and an M3700, though I think I'll be parting ways with them soon. It pains me to say it, because I've really enjoyed them but I just don't have the time to get them back to 100%. Such great boards.

what type of snake or cable do i need?

He Craig, Your best way forward is probably to start a new thred and outline the gear you have and what you need to do. I'm not sure what a 'Pro XL' from Mackie is...

what type of snake or cable do i need?

Two sets of that Hosa CPR202 will work just fine. No need to get the 8 channel snake if you don't need that many channels. 8 channel snakes just happen to be a common number of channels people buy at once.

Where are they now? Who's left?

I still check the forum once a week, if not daily. So much of what I need help with these days has been covered in the archives. I still re-read some of my old posts and learn more new stuff from the responses. Such a treasure trove here. Hardly a day goes by where I'm not listening to a new...

Headsup on My Fav Nearfield Monitors

Why do you like them so much? I know I can Google for other people's thoughts but I'm curious why you like them. What makes them special? What amp do you pair them with? Do you use more than one set of nearfields? Thanks! Robert
