    Question about Mineral Wool

Oh my, don't let WWLaidback see this or it could turn into another worthless political nerf footbal. ... lol! From what I have learned in my research, is that as long as any carcinogenic material is contained, then it is not an issue. That being said, it is hard to trust facts these days when...

A question about the audio waveform

Right! And with EDM or any dance or most rap for clubs, it does not seem to be a flat waveform, because the kick/beat is what is prominent. If you tried to bring the rest of the instruments to that needed pulse, it would just be a squashed mess with that 'sucking out' feeling that any brain does...

A question about the audio waveform

Dynamics are gone when you over compress and squash the life out of anything. It sounds un-natuaral and hurts my ears to hear the compressed version. Do you not hear that?

    Question about Mineral Wool

From what I have found and understand, the polyester stuff is in testing is not worth the cost, nor the performance abilities. I suppose if you wish to work in a hospital environment , then you must. The data even supplied by manufacturers of this type of product shows that it is not good for...

    Question about Mineral Wool

From what I understand, higher weight/density rockwool can be good for low end absorption, but at the expense of high end reflectivity above 1000hz. Seems that thicker low density products like the pink fluffy, require more depth, but result in better broadband control and even lower frequency...

Not available for store pick up?

That's really cool man! I have a curious question unrelated to the thread point. Why do the drums all seem to be late? I am getting the feel that all other tracks are rushed, or there is some type of latency going on here. with the drum track.

    "Betrayed By The Cheese"

Ok, well I will separate myself from the cheese assignation with haste.. Not even sure what that means. lol Love the vibe here! I do feel a separation from the guitar and the rhythm section. Meaning that the low end doesn't seem to be punching as it should. Overall it sounds great. Only...

Age - when does it become a problem?

There is a line between what is a good mix and a bad mix. The problem is, the line is likely as wide as the Atlantic ocean. The greatest factor to me is the song and artist/s itself. Great songs are what they are and are good because of the song, and not so much the recording itself. Would you...

When your DAW doesn't have an aux channel capability...

Right! I get that man. But you will likely be surprised at how much more streamlined Cubase has become. Yeah, it might take you few hours to get used to it, but you will have tons of help via here and elsewhere to make that super easy. Just a thought... Oh, and welcome to the forum! 8-) (y)

When your DAW doesn't have an aux channel capability...

I hear ya. It's kind of surprising that a user of software that far back is not still stuck in the tape realm. I mean, isn't that usually the hangup/desire to match? If one moves to the software version of recording, it seems that wanting newer technology in software would be the incitement, not...

    Studio Monitors

I have heard some great things about Adam's budget T7/8V models as well. Seems to be the same high frequency driver as the A7x's. The A7x definitely changed my perspective. There is truth to what you can hear from a worthy pair of monitors. The definition of midrange became quite apparent. Mixes...

    Studio Monitors

Another neg to the Rockits. I have owned both the G2 5's and 8's. Very hyped in the low end. Not good for mixing IMO. Sold them long ago. I held on to my Event TR8's until I pulled the trigger on ADAM A7x. The Event's were much more accurate. I have heard great things about the Yammy HS8's from...

You could, but it would likely be noisy. Need to borrow $20? :-)

    Behringer 2200 vs FetHead

I would say try an inexpensive +25 db Klark Teknik CM-1 or CT-1 for $35 and see what that does for you. I have a regular client with a really low volume voice and this worked perfectly with an SM7b...

question about absorption in a small drum room

What I know basically comes from Mr Brandts writings and lots of Skype conversations with him. So any advice I give is 2nd hand from what I have read and what I have applied in my studio. I have paid him for a full control room design with CAD drawings and plans for everything, but have not yet...
