Thanks for the heads up. I only ever thought of markertek for cables and connectors etc. BH looks good, but Mercenary will have to wait til I'm ready to turn pro.

'bout to toss my monitors out.

Relax, have a little patience, this is just the nicotine withdrawl that's getting you all worked up. If you smash 'em you'll have to wait even longer.

    My guitar sounds suck!

WOW!!! Beautiful analysis. I almost laughed out loud when you mentioned the 80's metal sound, the reason is the answer to your last question. The F/X box is a Roland GP-8, bought used from a guy who played in a metal cover band in the 80's and it's programmed with all his patches.

    Weeping Shadows

Thanks for commenting. I'm not sure what you mean by the mix souds small. Should I add more reverb? Widen the stereo field? Beef of the low end with EQ? My monitors are coming so I should be able to hear better soon.

    My guitar sounds suck!

The guitarist I'm working with uses a VERY processed sound and by the time he's got 8-10 tracks down the combination of all that distortion etc makes mixing a nightmare and a wash of white noise. So I'm going to give him all the F/X he wants in his cans and I can put howeever much I need on...

    Who would you order from?

I'll forever be a student of life, but I'll likely never again join the ranks of the Academia. Thanks to all, I went with MF, the free candy from sweetwater was tempting though.

    My guitar sounds suck!

Strat customized with brass hardware. You can monitor the F/X while recording so the guitarist has the right "feel" while only the dry signal goes "to tape".

    Who would you order from?

I've had very good experiences with the company, and I've heard enough about the speakers to be comfortable with the quality for the price. I've heard people who didn't like them who later admitted they never learned how to use the adjustments. They may lack a bit on the low end, but I plan to...

    Who would you order from?

I'm going to order today a pair of M-Audio BX5 Studiophile monitors. Everywhere I look online the price is the same. The local guys even have the same price. Normally I'd buy locally in a heartbeat but the last time I called them they didn't seem to care about selling to me and since it's a...

    My guitar sounds suck!

Ok I got the wrapper, got the guitar suite, he (my guitarist) likes the some of the sounds but he'd like a bit more sustain. Is there such a thing as a sustain plugin?Or can I create the sustain with compression or thru other techniques?

    Anyone using cakewalks VST-DX wrapper?

I'd like to be able to use VST, it seems that there's tons more shareware for VST available, but I've heard Cakewalk's wrapper is not that good. Any other comments?
