Nady DMK-9095 7-Piece Drum Mic Questions???

Check out the recorderman's technique. Gives you a great drum sound with only two overheads. Of course if afforded, kick and snare reinforcements are a great improvement over an already great technique.

    doubling up the kick?

One thing I heard many "loud" bands do, is they send the kick (and maybe the snare too) to a submaster, and compress the hell out of it. Really compressing and limiting it to insane levels. Then mixing it with your "clean" drum tracks. It gives you a shitload of punch if done properly. Hope I...

How to isolate the tracks of an orchestra from a drumkit playing with it?

Thanks Albert. But for the main pair, do you mean an audience overall stereo pair? Or an orchestra stereo pair?

question about alesis multimix 8USB???pls help me...

There are two versions of the Multimix USB. One with USB 1.1 (the one you were talking about, sends stereo mix) One with USB 2.0 (Records each input independent plus stereo mix. I think 10 tracks in the case of the Multimix 8) Or there is also the firewire versions, which is the same as USB 2.0...

How to isolate the tracks of an orchestra from a drumkit playing with it?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Yes, my main concern is violins and drums, becouse violins are not very loud, there are many of it, and they are in front of the orchestra (really close to the band). Cellos are also in front and close to the drumkit, but they are louder, and fewer...

    Guitar players learning drums

I played violin from 3-13, then guitar from 13 on, started banging a bit the keyboard and bass at about 15, and drums from 16 on. Here is the result. The more instruments you learn, the easier ir becomes to learn new ones.

Who uses the Audio Delta 1010?

Basicly there are 3 types of audio interfaces: - PCI (A card you plug inside your DESKTOP pc, like the 1010 LT) - USB (External card that you connect through USB 1.1 or 2.0. Can be used with both desktop and laptop) - Firewire (Same as USB, but it's said to have better stability with multitracking)

    Rode NT4 for Drum Overheads

You could get the pair of NT5s (I have them, and they rule!), and get a stereo bar for anytime you need to put them both in X-Y with a single mic stand. I was also checkint out the NT4 before I bought mine, but the NT5 are waaay more versatile.

Who uses the Audio Delta 1010?

I Use the 1010 LT too. With a Behringer Xenyx 2442Fx mixer. I had to do all kind of weird ass cables to record multitrack (stereo plug, to mono rca and unbalanced XLR... etc), but it works great, but I never use the built-in pre-amps. I use the ones from my mixer or my Art Tube MP. That doesn't...

do u prefer to run your final mix trough a limiter or compressor?

I try not to make it peak during the mix, and when I'm ready to do the mixdown I put a little compression and limiter. I guess you missed the option "all of the others" on the poll.

How to isolate the tracks of an orchestra from a drumkit playing with it?

I have to mike a 90 piece orchestra, and my biggest problem is that I will be playing the drums on the same stage, at no more than 15 foot away from the orchestra. And we play symphonic black metal, so drums aren't exactly quiet... So anyway, I have seen in some similar concerts that they use...

    Eee PC for multitrack recording?

BlackHawk: Not at all. They have 3 types of Multimix: 1) USB 1.1 (Sends and recieves stereo mixes) 2) USB 2.0 (Recieves stereo mixes and sends 16 individual channels plus stereo mix) 3) Firewire (Same as USB 2.0) I want it for recording, not for mixing. And I think that particular mixer...

MK-012 pair - only mono in omnidirectional?

The sentence from the original post, could be also referred to mono compatibility issues. If you mix both tracks from an X/Y pair into a mono track (ie. for radio), you get a nice mono track. However if you mix both tracks from an Omni spaced par, they won't match very good, since they will have...

    Eee PC for multitrack recording?

Woah! Thanks a lot for the review!!! I'm not getting the 8gig model, since you can't get them. Instead I'm buying the one with 512 ram and 4 gigs, and upgrading the ram to 2 Gb, and buying a 16 gb SD card to use it as a second hard drive, so I have 2 gb ram, and 20 gb hard drive :) Internal...
