Or is there even a name for it....
Basically it starts with something like this (for example): C D# C D# F
Then typically the music abruptly "stops" while a singer or solo instrument starts the melody. They typically do this alternating twice total, then on the third go round the singer...
Wondering what others have done for this. I don't need help with the design, it's the actual making I'm wondering about......I'm not into paying some professional service; surely there must be some good software and someplace either in one of those OfficeMax places or online to buy the...

Anyone familiar w/this? Just wondering how it's been used, general impressions, etc. Seems like a good deal for $7 (their "get it now, one-time good offer" bit :) ).....
I think one AI will be enough. :thumbs up: Agreed, why muck around with an adaptor? Just get an AI or mixer. Not sure why you're saying get an AI vs a mixer though. Either could work fine; depends on the personal pref's of onboard controls vs "virtual" ones in a DAW.
Meaning you would do the mix? Then why not the mastering as well? At least give it a shot.
I don't think you meant to include the word "don't" there. ;) As for finding someone who "cares," many can SAY they do and put on a good show, but it's a crap shoot as to whether they really do or...
My experience/impression is for the most part, no....but in your area, who knows? Only one way to find out. :) Would help if you were near a big city. That's been a very frustrating aspect of this for me.
No, what you've done apparently is gotten into a pointless snit. Sheesh. Excuse me...
I would normally recommend a pop filter with any mic for vocals, but as for the proximity effect, it depends on what you want. Sometimes a degree of that is desirable.
Which isn't relevant here because we aren't talking about a multitude of sources. This mic has one function for this person.
Which is true of the 58 and Beta 58 (and many, many others).
Except that many people neither don't have the need or desire/ability to spend more money for a "collection"...
You're joking I assume......
?? I can't imagine why. One of the big attractions for many (most?) songwriters about writing is to express their feelings, their experiences, etc etc. And generally speaking, in fact, it is by far the most logical and best topic/viewpoint available. Why would...

Sounds like the Shure 58 is the way to go (yes, right around $100). Also, based admittedly not on personal experience but the word from professionals who's judgment I trust, I second the...
I think you should stop worrying less about "annoying listeners" (who, let's face it, are probably on average pretty clueless musically anyway) and go with what you think works. PS - lyrics tend to be "self-indulgent" by definition. It's not inherently a bad thing. :)
Sorry but that makes no sense. If budget is an issue, opt for the 58 over the 57 (same price). And if you can spare the extra $50ish, opt for the 58 beta over the 58.
But that said, the diff in mics is IMO often exaggerated quite a bit.
? So you're pimping a mic you've never used?
Add me to the "ugh on my voice" crowd. And it's not that I have a "bad" voice, I don't think....I have a pretty good range, a good vibrato, and a clue about timing and phrasings/etc. It's just the sound of the voice itself. Hard to explain...but to me even though I'm not off key or doing...
