Gibson is not a good company.

I know, but I like ebony fretboards. I don't see the point of buying a new guitar that is supposed to be like the one made in the 50s. If I buy something new I just want it to sound good and play well.

Gibson is not a good company.

This one is rosewood. I wish it were ebony!

Gibson is not a good company.

The 330s are special guitars for sure!

Gibson is not a good company.

I also own a 68 ES-330 and a 60s (67 or 68) ES-355. I play the 355 more, but the 330 is really nice as well. Oddly enough, I got this in the mail unexpectedly today. The low E was a little flat, but other than that it was in tune out of the case and seems to be pretty cool. I'll check it out a...

Gibson is not a good company.

    I've seen them between 8k - 16k depending.

Gibson is not a good company.

I would make those as custom orders and maybe offer one or the other every other year or something. I love my 355, but I don't think there is a demand for it to be produced yearly. Same with the 330. Bring the non bread and butter models in and out of the rotation.

Gibson is not a good company.

I don't get it. I have about seven or eight TV Juniors & Specials. I never paid more than $800 for one. If someone is over 40 I can't imagine paying anything close to what they get for them now because for years they were out there. Someday I'll cash these in if prices continue! Cool guitars...

Gibson is not a good company.

100% if it were up to me Gibson would make the following: Les Paul Standard Les Paul Custom SG Standard Firebird ES-335 The Flying V, Explorer, Junior, Special, and 3xx models rotated out and into the lineup or custom orders. Everything would be made in the Historic factory and the pricing...

    Rockman

It's a unique sound. Not a sound I'm after, but if you're into Boston, Def Leopard, and hair metal it could be the box you're after.

Behringer are going for AMS Neve now

I would buy the new Audioscape version before the Behringer if it were me. If I didn't want to spent the $1800 with AS I would stick with the plug-in.

Pro Tools on MacBook with M1, M2, M3...

I have the cheapest M2 Air I could get. I use it for a ProTools class I teach at a college and it works great. In my studio I have an M1 Studio - again, base model. No issues.

What MIDI instruments are equal to or superior to GigaStudio?

GigaStudio had so much promise and in many ways was ahead of its time. The issues I had with it were (1) Tascam bought it and then did what they do and support was pretty bad and (2) it worked beautifully on Windows ME, but not on 2000 or XP.

Gibson is not a good company.

The current company is great, in my opinion. The last time I was in Nashville, I saw Mark and spoke to him for a while. I believe they are making some great guitars, and I like the fact that the Gibson name is only on USA-made guitars. When I look at what FMIC has done to every brand it...

Gibson is not a good company.

I loved the Firebird X. I had one on loan from Gibson when it first came out, and I can tell you it worked phenomenally well with Guitar Rig. I've yet to have any guitar - old or new - work as well with a simulator, and the X did with GR. There were many other things I liked about it as well. I...

    Arturia AstroLab!

I have one now and haven't had any problem with loading presets. The UI takes a little getting used to, but it's intuitive.

My reel to reels - sure could use some help

The first thing I would do is order and change belts, oil the motors, clean/demag the heads, clean the tape path, etc. A set of these is usually all that's needed to change belts...

What sample rate and bit rate these days?

48/24 but more for the increased dynamic range than anything else.

Who still mixes with a console?

For me, the console makes things way easier. I usually EQ/compress on the way into ProTools for most things, so when it comes time to mix things, it pretty much sounds the way I want them to. It's more about editing and automation. Plus, I use fewer plug-ins, and things sound better. I have a...
