My class did a mic comparison with a Beta 57, SM 57, Beyer m201 and a Audix D-2. The Beta actually sounded kind of bad. Out of the rest the m201 took the cake.
I am in the exact same boat.
Anyone have any experience with either mic?
I am on the constant lookout for some MK 012's but damn those are hard to find at a decent price.
I have been searching the web for awhile now and have seen massive price fluctuations on these things. One guy was selling them for 100 bucks a piece ( I Didn't get to him in time) and I just found a guy who is selling 2 for 250.
The only thing is he lives 2000 miles from me. I know there was...
Yesterday I thought I was going to go with the MXL 604's but today on craigslist there were 2 Audio Technica AT3031a for 100 bucks a piece. I believe they go for 169.99 on musiciansfriend. Anyone have any experience with these mics?
Thanks for the heads up on the karma mics, I will look into them.
I think i have read enough reviews and am going to buy a pair of MXL 604's for overheads. My deal is this, if I just buy 2, they are not technically a stereo pair correct? Is this a big deal? is there some other way to go around this?
Thanks
I have looked for reviews online and the only 2 I can find come from the Musiciansfriend site.
I have also read in another thread these are great tom, snare, and guitar amp mics.
Does anyone have any experiences with them? Anyone know how they compare to the Audix D series?
For only 70 bucks I...
I am using cubase sx3 and i will find out what nuendo he used a little later today when I see him. I hope they are interchangeable, it would be fun to remix some of the older stuff my band recorded.
I had recorded a demo on Nuendo a few years ago. I acually didn't do the recording my band was being recorded and i was wondering if it is possible to import nuendo project files into Cubase?
I have not put a external pre through those channels but i know a guy who does, he just keeps the gain at zero.
I'm starting to believe that my pres are in fact dead. Thats why i brought up the whole external pre idea.
Well now i guess i have a 6 channel firepod, damn..
I tested it and whe input knob turned to inputs 1-8 cahnnel one made sound when the gain was cranked but it was very distorted and gross sounding. Channel two produced no output at all even when cranked.
Is a guitar plugged straight into channel one or 2 supposed to sound good?
And does the...
I know this is a cubase forum, but most firepod users are use cubase so I thought I might be the right place to ask my question.
I have a firepod and I think i heard that inputs 1 and 2 have higher quality pres on them. I also know they are different than ins 2 - 8. But how are they different...
I know, I think it looks fun to mess with too. There is one in LA right now for 400$, there is also a Tascam 38 listed under the electronics section for 200$. If I lived in LA I would go see if it is "perfect working condition" like it says it is.
Anyone live in LA?
Ill probibly just keep...
Whats the word on the street on these machines?
How do they compare to the Tascam 38 or TSR -8?
I believe this was the first half inch 8 track that Tascam came out with?
Anyone know anything about these machines? I don't really hear much about them on this board.
I got these on sunday and plugged them in to find that one seems to be defective. There is a high end distortion on certain frequencies, has anyone ever had problems with these or know how easy it is to work with 123music.com?
I just turned 21, always been into recording but spend all my time and money on guitar gear. Now that I have a solid guitar rig I am working on getting my studio together. Its coming along pretty good so far, I am exited. I have listened to everyones pages they have posted and it all sounds...
