CanopuS, that actually sounds pretty good IMO. I think with a little EQ or experimentation with mic placement you might be able to get some improvement, but it's really not bad as is. I've never used a TL, but I have an ADK TC that I love. ADK makes good mics and has fantastic customer service...

I've used an ADK TC and an ADK Vienna on 'cello. Very nice results! I'd suggest a pair of the ADK Vienna or Hamburg models. In general, choosing LDCs or SDCs might depend on whether you want a flattering, thick rich tone (the ADK's would give you that) or a more accurate sound. Of course...

I don't think the TC exaggerates low mids; my impression is that it's fairly neutral. But in any case, why are you so reluctant to use a little EQ? Perhaps others can suggest a mic that would be more suitable for what you want. But, as stated many times in these forums, you need to try out...

Actually, in my experience the TC has much less proximity effect than other mics I've used, and as I recall, the ADK web site quotes a review that says the same thing. I like the TC a lot, if I have a source that needs to be smoothed out a little. I'm not sure it's the absolute best for fast...
