    Recording Heavy Metal Guitars?

An example of what you got would help. I'm also inexperienced with the G12M speaker and it's voicing. Most of the guys I know who record the 5150III are using vintage 30 speakers including myself. So starting from that point I'll give my pointers anyway: 1. Generally I highpass around 60hz...

    Rick Beato about gear

Rick is a mixed bag for me. Some of the videos he does I like and some of the ones where he dives into favorite riffs or fills or the like I just can't get into.

Preamp pedal and Focuscrite ISA Two : better together or waste of money?

No not at all. A bass preamp is a great investment in my personal opinion and has a much greater effect on sound than a standard DI/mic pre. I run a bass preamp myself and at this point wouldn't record direct without it. I personally would have a look at either the Darkglass B7k or Vintage...

Does bluetooth technology warrant consideration when mixing?

A few thousand (or more like 10 or so thousand) hours of experience doesn't hurt either.

Does bluetooth technology warrant consideration when mixing?

Yeah this. You shouldn't even need to consider it if your mix and master is good.

My thoughts on Neutron 3 Advanced

I actually just picked up Ozone 8 advanced this month as the sale was hard to pass up ($99 to upgrade from 7 standard). I haven't put enough time into it to have an opinion yet though.

    E Drums Advice Please

If I was going to buy a another e kit there are 3 things I would not compromise on. 1. It would be a Roland. Sure there are other names that do the e kit thing well (I've played Yamaha's higher end kits as well as the older alesis dm10 kits, I still prefer a Roland), but Roland just seems to...

    E Drums Advice Please

I would look for a used Roland TD-9 kit with some mesh heads (there were a few models, some had all mesh while others had only a mesh snare). I agree with jimmy69 here, cheap isn't what you want based on what you said.

How you deal with Heat in summers while recording - I switch off Fan but I have to AC

I'm in a basement, it's still warm but it's not so hot that I can't make it work. In the winter time when it gets really cold I turn on the heat, wait about an hour then turn it off and go record. It's finished so it retains the heat pretty well, I also just deal with hoodies in the winter.

15 years ago i posted on this board asking for a crack for SX2.

I started on LE version 1, but at that time SX3 was out. Someone handed me a cracked copy of said software. I did install it, but ended up uninstalling it. It never seemed to run right and it just seemed sketchy. I shortly entered college and took advantage of student pricing and snagged SL3...

    the demise of Windows 7

I've been on windows 10 since 2016, it's been great. The only issues I run into are unstable m-audio drivers and TBH it's because I should really upgrade my stupid interface since it's hardware that has been discontinued for some time now (profire 2626). M audio no longer releases updated...

    Muddy and Fizzy Guitar Recordings

Can't believe I missed this thread but whatever I'm weighing in. 1. A lot of old school guys used a boost pedal (and a lot of new guys do as well, the amps and guitar choices have just changed). The idea is to roll of the low end and crank the shit out of the mids. This why people put a...

My thoughts on Neutron 3 Advanced

Yeah I have not moved to Ozone 8 yet. Still on 7. I probably will grab it at some point, sort of hoping they do a good sale on black Friday and it makes it worth my while to upgrade. I would love to go from 7 standard to 8 advance for a decent price.

My thoughts on Neutron 3 Advanced

Yeah I wasn't sure if the eq had changed or not from previous versions. From your post it sounds like it hasn't unless the whole dynamic thing is new.

My thoughts on Neutron 3 Advanced

So I recently picked up this gem with the sale. This isn't any kind of endorsement or anything like that, just wanted to share my experience with it in case anyone was thinking about it. All of the modules are excellent in my opinion. The EQ is one of the nicest I have used (and that...

    iZotope ozone imager

Did you download izotope's software program for that? I've had no issues authorizing izotope stuff (ozone, Rx, Nuetron, and nectar), but I do it with ilok because I prefer it to software auths.
