The Holy Grail of Multi Effects Pedals....
I FOUND IT!!!!!! A Zoom GFX 8.
I returned a J station to get this thing. This pedal blows me away with its versatility. I tried out the Pod,Jstation,AX1000, GT3 and GT5, and a few others I don't even remember now. This effects processor just...
Just curious to whom everybody's songwriting influences are? Mine seem to change as time goes on but seems not to stray to far from a Savatage/Saxon type genre of music. Anyone else care to offer theirs??
Dave, before you buy anything try an Ibanez GSR200 Bass. It has a short scale and an unbelievably thin neck for a Bass. They can be found for just over $200. I pick one up this weekend to try with a processor(I was interested in the Bass processor not the Bass) and was floored by the...
Reco, I tried to send you a link to the Zoom site and it came back. Sorry I didn't get your message sooner. Send me a valid email addy and I will return the link seeing how it won't work thru this board. 225 patches!
Along the same lines, I generally start with a riff that sets a mood for a particular subject matter. That is usually determined by the Key I am working in. The riff then gets developed into a rythym track. Being the non percussionist Metalhead that I means struggling with programing in the drum...
I own a Tascam 414 and am perfectly happy with it. When I finish a song THEN I load it into my CPU via Cubasis VST to burn to CD and thats when all the SH!t starts! But,The 414 I am very comfortable with to do my demos. Wouldn't it be nice to concern myself
mainly with the artistic content of...
I have a 505 and 506. I use the 505 primarily for "Direct In" recordings with excellant results. The key is to dump all but about 2 of the factory presets and program in better patches that are easily availible on the unofficial zoom site. The 506 however is not as impressive as the 505.
I actually traded a Gibson Double neck for a Westone back in the early 80's. Seemed to me to be a brilliant move on my part at the time. Now looking back I'm just glad I survived being that FREAKIN STUPID!!!
Huatex,
I forgot to mention that I too use a Tascam to do My original recordings. Once complete I mixdown to a wav.file so I can edit and burn to CD. I'm just more comfortable with an analog machine.
Seems to me all you need to get started is a minimum of 64Mb sdram(you probably have) a multitrack program(Cake walk,Cubase, etc.) and a CD burner. This should be obtainable for under $500.00
Learning to operate the system and get everything working properly is a NOT a joyous experiance however.
I am using a Y plug as you described origanally into the line in input and did get the levels up briefly. Riptide is the card that came with the CPU. Is the Mic input a mono input?
The CPU is a 500mHz HP 6630C with CDR. The soundcard is the one that came with the unit,a Riptide. I am pluged into the Mic in input because I couldn't get the levels up pluging into the line in input. Is that normal? I have managed to burn one song to
CD just to start learning the system and...
Yeah Coop, My stage axe in the 80's was a BC Rich and that thing took the pounding on being on the road and Never once let me down.
I sold it a little while back and played an Assassin in a local music store recently. It retailed for somewhere in the $1300.00 range and I felt like it was way...
