Thanks guys,, I've been using a 414 for about a year now and loading my mix downs into my CPU via wavlab lite for limited editing and then burning to CD with pretty decent results. The problem is 4 tracks are not enough and the review I read about the 488MKII spoke of it in rather glowing terms...
Is the 488 MKII obsolete?? And if not, would $499.00 be a good price for a new one? I am looking to upgrade from a 414 and the 488 MKII is one possibility.
Allow me to ask a stupid question, I am considering a BR-8. My CPU already has a CD burner. What is the best way to get from the BR-8 to cd?? Rock/heavy metal genre of music.
I couldn't get the link to work Jon but have made some progress. I installed the 2.0 upgrade and it made a great difference! Still not what I'm hoping for as far as results but definately heading the right direction. Now I am impressed with the Pod! Some of the combinations of Amps and Cabs that...
Thanks Fritz, I was aware of the line/mic selector setting and that is not the problem. I get a great sound when running headphones out of the Pod or thru the monitors until I select a track to record on. If I could get the sound I'm hearing out of the Pod headphone jack on tape I'd be a very...
For the last couple of years I have used Zoom products to recrd my guitar tracks into a Tascam 414 with surprisingly good results. After reading rave reviews all over the net I broke down and bought a used pod. It is a Pod 1.0 and sounded great thru the moniters. The problem I have is that it...
Hey Nik,
I use a 505 and 505II frequently directly into a Tascam machine. I have no problem editing out any unwanted noise. I find its just a question of editing the Zoom before starting the project. I am into Metal basically, so that genre of music may make editing the zoom easier. I do know...
That sounds like the attitude most of us had during the dreaded "Disco era" in the 70's. Things change,, the 80's became full of potential for young bands like you (and I at the time) so don't give up. You never know what will happen but you know what WON'T happen if you don't try. I just wish...
I tested EVERYTHING out there,, everything mentioned above and then some. I owned a J Station for 4 days and took it back. What I eventually did(should have been the first thing I did) was take the most inexpensive guitar I own down to Sam Ash and line all the effects processors up. Pod,J...
It occured to me that maybe I should clarify my previous post. In singing the praises of the GFX 8 I should make it clear that I play Metal. If you aren't into that genre of music(I couldn't imagine) then this pedal would be overkill. More than half of the effects and most of the amp simulations...
The GFX8 is not in the class of the Zoom 505 and the such. It lists for around $378.00
I paid about $280 for mine. I could go on for quite a while about what it has but to keep it short I will say this. I did an unbelievable amount of research on multi effect consoles/pedals and I believe I've...
