I highly doubt that it's a grounding problem with your mixer....
installing the latest drivers is always a good first-step; however there are numerous other things that could be proving to be the problem.....(eg. USB port, hard drive cache, etc.)
if you're using win98 - here's a link to a good...
it looks like that mixer has inserts for each channel - you can use those as inidividual line outs for each channel. I believe that to do this you need to insert a 1/4" line into each insert half-way - you can then take this line into a channel on your interface (or recorder). maybe someone...
what are you recording into? how many channels?
what kind of sound are you going for when you EQ your toms? you can probably get close to the sound via tuning and different head combinations. if your toms are tuned properly and sound good to you 'live', then you shouldn't need to EQ...
I have an Iron Cobra Power Glide double pedal and understand your concerns regarding 'stiffness' of the pedal...I don't really think that you can adjust this stiffness out of the pedal - I think that it's the inherent 'feel' of the pedal
my suggestion is to sell your iron cobra and buy a dw5000...
first - you may want to post this in the microphone forum....
anyhow - the only experience that I've had mic'ing drums with CAD mics is using a pair of E200s as overheads - and they sound pretty amazing....
I'm sure that you can get a very useable sound from the mics that you mention, probably...
unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be too much out there yet on the firestation....no reviews, etc.
I'm interested as well in checkin one out..
regarding the preamps - the specs (noise floor, frequency response, etc.) compare favorably to those of the Presonus MP20, which I believe is...

look , I'm not going to argue with you..
fact is you quoted a post about getting a useable kick sound using a 58 and put three letters 'LOL'. In my world, that is translated as 'Laughing Out Loud'. Now, in the context that those three letters were posted, to me it looked like you were...
I'm with you here......some people around here (no names mentioned!!) like to shout the party line - which, in this case, would be that you need a dedicated bass drum mic to get a good bass drum sound....
I'm sure that you've gotten good sounds with your sm58 - heck I"ve gotten good bass drum...
I'll probably get mugged for this...but you'd probably be better off buying a small behringer mixer and use its preamps that using signal processor levels as preamps....
anyway, dont' most of those signal processors take a line level signal??? in which case the point is moot, 'cause it...
probably not, unless each channel has either an insert or a direct out...if each channel does have an out - then you're in luck
you would need to be able to take each 'preamped' signal out of the br8 individually and then route that into a channel in your delta44 (or whatever interface you are...
both programs are fairly similar in features, etc. - so you might be best off trying to get a hold of tryouts of each program and see which one you are more comfortable with...your 'puters plenty powerful to record with
delta 44 is a good choice...you will need some preamps/di in order to get...
what other mics do you have?
if the 58 is all that you have access to, I think that you can get by with it and get some decent results. Obviously, best case scenario is that you get a 'dedicated' kick mic (eg. ADK D112, Shure Beta52).
The bass drum mic in the AudioTechnica kit pac is very...
I was going to bring this, but you beat me to it. I used to record with an SBLive! and now own a Delta44 and the difference is like night and day. The amount of noise with the SBLive is pretty noticeable - even with clean audio sources. The Delta44 is very quiet...
The cards are light years...
delta 44 = no preamps
delta 66 (delta 44 w/spdif) = no preamps
delta 66 w/omnistudio = 2 preamps (in the omnistudio)
delta 1010 = no preamps
the a/d converters in the 1010 are rumored to be a *bit* better than those in the 44/66...I don't have the specs in front of me
having said that, I own a...
you may also need to tweak your system in order to get a low latency...
I've been able to get my Delta44 (recording to Cubase VST32) down to 8ms latency...so everything that you hear monitoring through the system is 'real-time' as you are playing
here's a page with some tips...
somehow I was unable to edit my post above...so I'm posting again with my pic....
that's not me playing thee kit!! I promise;)
I don't have a 'full' pic of the kit on this computer - so this is all you get!!

I have an affinity for green kits as well. I'll attach a pic as soon as I can get it down to attachable size.
