Funny you should say that.... I had one and, on its own or with an MZ-2 it was OK. However if I tried to use it with the Boss OD-20 double distortion pedal or a PodPro it boosted the noise floor to the point where I couldn't it was just unusable ! Sad really 'cos I later, after I sold the GE-7...

I'd go with the XT as it is the best bang for your buck with a USB out. I have the Pod Pro (for the S/PDif out, before usb) the xt and the xt Live. They do require a little tweakery but it is possible to get some nice sound down with out too much hassle !

solved it, I had Midi through turned off on the Dr770 ! Doh !

I have a Boss DR770 (drum machine) and a Yamaha DT Express II (electronic kit) hooked up to Logic 7.2 (G5 Mac) via the midi ports on a MOTU 828 mk II (I have double checked the connections). I have gone through the manuals of both bits of kit and as far as I can see I have them configured...

I used to have an ART TPS and got some great clean guitar tones out of it.

I swapped over a year ago and haven't looked back or regretted a thing ! I miss Sonar but once I got used to Logic it was fine !!

Unfortunately not which is why I normally use a pod !!! I was even pointing the guitars away from the mic last time ! baaa !!

I guess I could stick one in a mix with out too much bother. Anyone any major prefs as to how I record it ? An C414 into the Avalon in front of the Marshall would not be too hard.
