Trying to Master with the ART Pro VLA II

How much reduction are you getting? Also try a longer release time, somewhere between .60 seconds and 3 seconds. But I wouldn't suggest using a longer release if you getting more than 6db of reduction. I aim for 2-4 db. Hope this helps, its an awesome compessor for tracking and mixing too (what...

    Mic'n up an Entire house

Because it would be awesome to be able to utilize every room in the house. From the basement (dead, super dry) to the Main floor (hardwood floors, high ceilings, Big open rooms, very lively) to the upstairs (a mixture of the two, some rooms have carpet some have wood floors, some big rooms some...

    Damn Technology

I've had a guitarist come in that by habit would alway put his iPhone on top of his amp....why he did this I have no idea, but it was a pain in the ass to deal with. Before every take I'd have to get on the talkback "Hey man, can you get the phone off your amp I'm getting interferance and I can...

    Mic'n up an Entire house

I wasn't going to run anything between walls, just along the inside of the interior wall. I'll be able to take this out very easily when we move.

how do YOU get a great electric guitar sound? (clean)

Yeah, I know what it is, thanks for the clarification though. :D I just figured it was something he rigged up and it could have been a box made of sheet rock or a plastic storage container which in both cases would probably be doin somethin funky to the sound ( maybe itd sound pretty cool though)

how do YOU get a great electric guitar sound? (clean)

What is this "small soundproof enclosure" you say you put the amp in? I would just lose the enclosure, most likely its not helping you out. Use the room you have and if the room sounds like crap try another room. Make sure your gear sounds good, get up close to the amp, like a foot or two away...

    Hi Hat gap...

I have a friends that keeps them a good 5 inches apart. I always laugh when he plays drums cuz it looks like something outta peewee's playhouse with the things flying up and down :laughings: He's a good drummer though, he's a jazz guy so he only uses it for hi-hat steps to keep tempo basically...
