WTB: Quantegy or Ampex 456, BASF or EMTEC 911 1" tape

Anyone have any new or used 1" 456 or SM 911? They usually go between 25 and 50 bucks on ebay for the used stuff. I'm looking for about 4-8 reels. PM me and if possible include serial numbers for the tapes. Thanks, -Barrett

    ATR ReelECO Box?

Yeah I thought that was possible but there's a note on the website "Please call for prices on our empty take up reels. They come in all sizes. Prices do not include freight and insurance. " I'm gonna send them an email and then probably order 100 reels of tape

    ATR ReelECO Box?

Anyone know anything about this? I dunno if its a pancake with some cheap packaging or if its just on a "green" Flange of some sort? Or maybe its only a flange? ATR Magnetics, LLC I use 1" and its 110 dollars cheaper for the eco box! -Barrett

Recommend me some solid DIY mics?

I have a band comin in to record and the lead singer is a tech junkie and is always tryin to get me to buy kits to let him put together so I finally took him up but I'm looking for something quality. I'll probably want to spend around $200-$400 on the kit. Looking for a tube condenser but I'm...

    Post Your Analog Recordings Here...

Thanks a lot! I helped produce, but it isn't my music, I just put it on tape ;) We gonna start a new record--probably a full length--within the next couple of weeks. We did some demos and they were so kickass we almost wanted to keep em as finals but the arrangements need to be tweaked. Thanks...

    Recording in 90's

I read somewhere and I can't recall the exact year but I wanna say that it wasn't until 94-96 that CD sales surpassed the sale of Vinyl records sold. Which was weird for me because growing up (in the 90s) I never even really saw records, dont even think I ever heard one until 2002-2003. But from...

Do i NEED to mic an amp?

I would say if you are eventually looking to get to this point then obviously get a mic, but if you are just making demos for your band or helping other bands make demos then amp sims will be fine. I've never used them but I doubt Greg would steer you in the wrong direction.
