    New acoustic singer/songwriter feedback

I really like the way the song builds up especially the point when the drums kick in. I like the panning style along with the drums but I felt like the panning was pretty extreme before the drums kicked in. It still works the way you have it. I would just be curious to see how it sounds not as...

    Piano composition

I really like the stereo sound in the recording. I would like to hear a little more out of the high frequencies on the higher notes to add some emotion but overall the vibe captured and represented is extremely favorable and a treat to listen to. A lot of clarity through out.

Rough mix of EP...could use some valuable feedback!

I wanted to state that I think the best complete mix is "this is war" and I think "get it right" is probably the best quality recording. That should give you an idea of my subjective taste.

Rough mix of EP...could use some valuable feedback!

Hello. I haven't visited the forums lately because I have been working on many projects. My latest project is a band I sing and play guitar for. We have tracked the album which consists of Guitars, bass, drums, background synth, and vocals. I learned a very new mixing techniques in the process...

    Hard Rock/Punk Recording

Sounds great. The toms are def in your face, but I can understand why. The only thing i may change is bringing up the crash cymbals more to give it a little more edge.

    New Song "Heart of Stone"

the bass is a really low mixed in keyboard as I don't own a bass at the moment. The snare head is pretty much shot which is probably why the snare sounds not so great. Interesting about the vocals, i have them with a good amount of verb and some delay. The guitar is mostly clean and only has...

    New Song "Heart of Stone"

This is a new song from myself. I realize some of my fades are terrible and i should probably have fixed them before it was too late. I don't consider myself a singer really and rarely sing on my songs, so this was an attempt at something different. Tried using different mics for this project so...

  12. Shout It Out

    General studio question.

The reason I ask all of this is that I would like to have my drums where the desk is in picture one. and keep recording where the desk is in picture too. All I am trying to do is make alright home recordings. Nothing Perfect.

    General studio question.

Also...here are some pictures trying to help you see what I mean... Properly set up (distance from walls is fine and it is set up so the room is longer than the width): Not properly set up(bad distance from walls, room is set up where the width is longer than the length):
  14. Shout It Out

    General studio question.

I'll start with myself. I feel that I have the ability to track fairly well for a teenager with no recording education, and about 5 years of experience. I can't mix what I record very well. Half of that is my lack of education on how all of the frequencies interact, and half is the cheap...

    Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron Envelope Filter

^ I guess you are referring to the tone factor analogue filter??? Amazing pedal, I've owned 2. Now I own the one designed for bass frequencies.

    Critique

I say you could charge 35/40 an hour. It's really not bad. I'd say 25 at lowest, but that is really low. If you don't think 35 is fair, go with 30, as long as you are consitent and can record a variety of music. What kick mic did you use in this recording?

    ***Killer Deal on Studio Foam***

I bought foambymail once. I only use a little bit of it, not even for recording, because it doesnt do much at all, waste of money for serious sound stuff. Works great with my stereo and tv though, really helps for that, as far as studio use, worthless. 703 really works. Now I have piles of...
