Let me know what you find out. I just got a 1680 and only bought one effects card. I'd like to use my Lexicon MPX-100 with it as well. On that note, how do you connect it (the Lexicon) digitally to the 1680? Perhaps this is not possible. Are the aux. inputs analog? Perhaps stupid...

I've already got a Pentium II, 350 Mhz com with a 8 GB hard drive. I want to be able to make pro quality recordings and I don't have a lot of room to work with (and would like to economize as well). The Roland unit sounds nice and compact (sounds like you can burn CDs easily with it)...

Do these adapters add noise to recordings on the VS880EX? What's my best option on getting a good mic sound? I don't have lots of bucks for a mic, so I'll probably do as follows: 1) Buy tube preamp 2) Plug mic into TP 3) Run TP into Roland and use mic simulation? Thanks...

I'm curious to know the answer. I want to be able to record on all audio 8 tracks (not necessarily simultaneously) and then mix all 8 down. Is that not possible?

Thanks for the help. I'm not big into MIDI (though maybe I should learn it). I used to record with a buddy on an old Teac A-3440 4-track. I want something small where I can do all basics/overdubs myself. I want to be able to layer guitars, synths, drums and vocals. Bearing this in mind...

I'm trying to build a home studio that will sound professional but not take up a lot of room. I already have a computer. Is the workstation from Roland the way to go? I'm a guitarist and the effects and mic modeling (a money saver?) sound good.
