If you can't mix down to a .wav with your VST effects applied you either have a broken version of SL or don't know what you're doing. I have SE and can do that easily...

go to kvraudio.com and get a free vst sampler...i think there's a few of them. then just load your samples in and use a midi track to sequence a drum pattern

It's hard to know what to tell you without more info...what does it say when it won't allow you to add a track? If you installed correctly and your soundcard driver is installed correctly, it should be as easy as add audio track, arm track, record

I change my guitar strings at least once a month, usually more. I am playing (by playing i mean in front of people, not just for fun) on a consistent basis though, so it is a big deal to me that the sound and feel fresh...I think it is probably up to you, but 6 months is quite a while!

you're right, I haven't played old ones. Do you know what kind of woods those FG series ones are? Are they solid or laminate? I had a hard time finding out much about the 335's...thanks!

I am producing a CD for our church this summer, some original stuff, some stuff songs we do that we'll get licenses for. We have mics available like, Shure SM81's, sm57's, sm58's, MXL 603's, MXL 990's, SP C1's, MXL V67g, ADK Hamburg, and I think that's pretty much it (minus a few drum mics)...

I'm not a big fan of the Yamaha's, but I've only played a few. If you are looking in the 1500 range I'd go for Taylor, Martin, Breedlove...but alot of it is opinion
