I literally never use MBC on anything, only one I would ever use is the fabfilter multiband, because it corrects the phase issues and it sounds really good, the cubase one is pretty good but I don't like the way it interferes with phase, and it's very obvious on good monitors, you can hear it...

he has an interesting voice, you did over-do it with the saturation though and it's not really like tape, more like distortion that's not needed, tape saturation is quite a different sound to this, I'd recommend trying out UHE Satin if you can get it on trial, great sounding tape saturation plug-in.

the bass drum could do with more presence, it's a stuggle to hear it, there's a bit of a clash there frequency wise with the bass guitar, otherwise I enjoyed the song and think it sounds good, the MD421 is clearly a great microphone, the mix just needs a little finessing and it'll be there.
