    is it my equipment i just want to give up??? =[

    Just a thought here ................... what bit depth are you recording at? are you using one of the "pwr-r" dither settings? If you are, turn it back to "triangular" and see how that comes out for you. And by the way ...... the tunes sounded pretty cool .......... Not my cup of tea mind...

    Windows 7 edition?

    If you buy Windows 7, other than OEM, the box comes with two discs, One for 32 and one for 64. You can also use almost all of your 32 bit plug-ins if you get "jBridge". It costs about ten bucks.

    Synth noise like this?

    It has to be. I just tried it on my synth and made a sound nearly the same as in the link. I use manual control on the "filter envelope" and "amp envelope" simultaneously.

    Best Delay Plug-In?

    I have had some good experience with the "Sonitus:Delay" from Cakewalk. I have used the stereo panning often and it doesn't eat up too much of my CPU.

    let me see your studio!

    The noise level is probably irrelevant in certain types of music. Music that has a constant level or that has few low volume audio sequences would come to mind. I usually end up with quite a diverse dynamic range because of the type of music I play. I try not to compress the dynamics out of the...

    let me see your studio!

    Well it isn't exactly a filter, but a noise gate. It is part of the tools that come in Soundforge. I use it in real time, run from a separate computer, as I do with many of my audio effects. The biggest drawback, is by the time I get the noise levels down to where I want them, the audio quality...

    let me see your studio!

    I used to have a couple of Casio (workstation) keyboards. The WK3500 was a great pleasure and so simple to use. I think some of the sounds in it's ROM were pretty good also. The only issue I had with those and a couple of my low end Yamaha keyboards, was the amount of noise that came out of the...

    How Do You Store Your Cables?

    I'm not the "singer" type of person. A few years back I made a stab at a couple of tunes with lyrics, that I sung myself. Everybody that heard it said I sound like "Jimmy Durante". So .............. "Goodnight misses Calabash, where ever you are". :cool:

    Using sound libraries

    I might be missing your point altogether, but I use virtual synths and hardware synths at the same time. I select the sounds on my hardware synths and trigger them with my midi controller keyboard, recording the audio output into Sonar or P5. I also at the same time use a virtual synth or two...

    How Do You Store Your Cables?

    I think I may have miss spoke here ................ apparently most of you have higher end gear than I, because what I am identifying as "audio" cables are not XLR, run instead 1/4 inch phono cables, and RCA cables. That is all I ever use. I don't think I have anything that has XLR connectors...

    let me see your studio!

    I have several of those small tables, and I sometimes surround myself with a variety of keyboards. I have other keyboards that I use on occasion, but just as sound generators. I will sometimes set up three or four of them, each receiving on a different midi channel, and each outputting audio...

    let me see your studio!

    Actually the flash on my camera wouldn't work and that was just the morning sunlight coming through the windows at the other end of the room, and they have dark sheers in front of them. I prefer a dark environment when I'm into my creative (term used loosely) moods.

    It's usually not all that tidy. I picked up all the beer bottles and candy wrappers so the picture would look nicer. Also I deliberately didn't stand back any further, so you wouldn't see the cat lurp on the carpet. :o

    How Do You Store Your Cables?

    About five months ago I took three boxes full of cables, (not all audio) to Guitar Center right down the road. I asked them if they wanted them to give them to anybody that might need an extra cable. They said no, and I said I would just leave them on the side walk at the front of the mall...

    What program should I use for what i wanna do?????

    I will be ............. I joined quite some time ago, but never had a chance to mee4t the people until just a couple of days ago. I used to spend a lot of my time on the Cakewalk P5 forum, but it has pretty much evaporated. By the way ............. it's nice to meet all of you, and I hope...
