At this point, I'd stop everything. Load it in the car and drop it off at the nearest guitar shop and have their Tech. have a look at it. You're going to wind up doing more harm than good.
I've got a few Sennheiser e914s that I've never put to use, I picked up a couple extras when I upgraded my overheads but never bothered opening these up.
$375 shipped, each.
I've got a used Beta 52A and a few brand new ones ($189 @ mf.com) that I'm not using.
The used one has just seen home and project studio use. Hasn't been gigged or abused. Used mainly on Kick Drum and in front of my Ampeg 8x10 cab. I like it pretty well but my drummer decided he wanted...
I've been going through some more auction boxes. I've got a bunch of brand new Handheld Audio Tone Generators and Handheld Sound Level Meters. I'll sell as a pair (1 tone generator and 1 sound level meter) $125.00 Shipped - Cont. USA
I don't see a "brand" name so I assume these were produced...

I wasn't really lookin' for a confirm, just wanted to point out that everyone is reeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllllllllll quick to start screaming treatment and that's just not always an option.
I apologize for coming across so strongly before.

I've been through Ethan's site 23423 times, thanks. You should probably read some of these threads again. No one is saying that any of this takes the place of proper treatment. Believe it or not, some of the guys just starting out can't afford to, don't have the ability to, and don't know...
While I can't stress enough that proper treatment is very, very, very important. To say that hanging blankets will do "nothing" isn't quite fair. Comparing it to treatment of any form is a bit premature though.
I'll give you two examples.
1) For the longest time, I just had a spare bedroom...
This isn't "that" crazy of an idea. It's very similar to the jazz bass setup with two volume knobs, one for each pickup. You just turn the volume up for each pickup as you see fit. This would yield the same result using a sliding "fader" It could be cool though.
Oh yeah, I know what we're getting into. My Brother-in-Law has a sawmill down the road so we're just gathering, sending it to him and taking what we want as it comes out the other end and leaving the rest for him to do whatever he wants. Hoping to have the other building done by Fall. It'll...
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the raising prices across the board, no pun intended. We're prepping a site next to our workshop to build a curing facility and have added tree removal to our list of "services". Seems it's more cost effective for us to get paid to obtain the wood ourselves and spend...
A DI with a "thru" feature would allow the signal to pass to his amp and the recording interface at the same time. They're on the cheaper side of expensive. That, along with whatever recording stuff you have your eye on would be a pretty good present imo. You're a heck of a friend!
In my limited plugin based experience, I find the Classic series pretty useful, minus the EQ which I find pretty useless.
Not a huge fan of altering what I record, as if to "polish" though unless it's some sort of "effect" I usually don't use plugs.
However, I am a big fan of recording it how...
These are in pretty darn good shape, they're sitting on my pedal board right now. I'm in a weird mood and don't feel like I need them at this particular second.

I dropped of an Epi - Valve Jr about 4 weeks ago at a local shop. I had turned it on, and it just didn't work. Tried everything I knew, didn't have time to mess with it anymore. They call today to tell me that it's ready....$94.00.........
I was at work so I didn't have time to argue with...
