    DIY Treatment Question

I get that quite a bit, but I call everyone Sir or Miss or whatever. I'm not sure why. Regardless, I figured we'd have someone pipe up by now lol.

    DIY Treatment Question

I've been wondering the same thing myself, Sir. From the looks of things, the better of any instructional photos, videos, advice I've found has the fellow making a wooden frame the exact dimensions of the 24 inch x 48 inch 703 panels, and placing the 703 over it, then wrapping. So rather...

    $10,000-What would you do?

What type of things do you plan on recording in this "project studio"? I'd buy a Presonus FP10, a few SM57s, Beta 52, some SP C4s, and a LDC or two. A couple mic stands and spend the rest on a bottle of Crown Royal, a Gretsch Falcon and put the rest towards the principle on my mortgage. :drunk:

condensed fiberglass info/where to buy thread

Home depot I spoke with a sales guy at Home Depot today who said that they can special order anything Owens Corning. 703, 705, 707, everything. The only down side is that you have to order 5 cases for them to place the order. Their prices are pretty on par with everyone else that carries it...

    My new Stinnett (metalhead) guitar.

I'm hugely envious of Metalhead's talent. I do believe my next guitar may very well be one of his.

Recording Two tracks from one microphone with effects?

I'm a big fan of recording things twice, but if I wanted two tracks of the same thing I'd just open and arm two tracks with the same input selection in my DAW. VST Plugs can be added and adjusted later. Or, what the other dude said about copying, that'd work just fine too. You may be...

    Mixer Circuit Board TroubleShooting

Well......I'm afraid it's a little more complicated than just jumping in blindly, with little experience and no one there to go over it with you. A+ for spunk, but I'm not sure that you're going to get very far here. A thorough visible inspection is probably the best you're going to be able to...

    A warning about Thomann

As a business owner, I agree with their policies. I cannot support their customer service methods though. Taking 5 minutes to communicate with the customer could have saved them tons of time on the back-end. I'd have probably fired every person involved for wasting "my" time and the...

WTB: USB/Firewire interface or PCI Soundcard

So I finally got my project studio out of a spare bedroom and into an actual commercial space and wouldn't ya know it....I miss recording at home! I'm looking for a smaller interface, two-ish channel. USB or firewire or even an old M-audio delta series PCI soundcard (preferably not the 1010...

    Alesis Monitor One MK 1

I used MK1s until I got my Wharfedales. I used a cheap Samson Servo 120with them and they served my purpose well. The amp had been through hell and back and looked like crap but it was quiet and that's all I cared about.

Guitar amp and condenser mic - how to

There really are no hard rules other than expirement to find what sounds best to you. I'd just be careful about putting it right up against the cloth. Other than that, if you can think it, give it a shot. What type of condensor you got?

Guitar amp and condenser mic - how to

This is actually, already very similar to my regular setup. I use mostly open-back cabinets so along with the 57 kissin' the cloth of the front. I place the Condensor on the back-side of the amp/cab. Approx. 5-6ft away, pointed towards the open-back. If the amp is cranked, you should have...

Wood finish for a guitar rack

You'll most likely want something other than finish between the wood and the guitars resting on it. After a lengthy period of use, the finish on that section would be worn/scratched off anyway. Any drawings or pictures to post as samples of what you're going to build?

    cabs and heads

The cab is 30w RMS @ 16ohm and both heads have 8ohm and 16ohm speaker output selections. You should be good any way you slice this one. I'm hearing lots of good things about both of these heads too, good choices!

    With shitty credit...

It's not a Creed cover and does not involve a man singing about pants on the ground. That's really the only criteria required for me to give him a +1.

    With shitty credit...

+1 for him (Eric Violette) being more talented than the commercials give him freecreditreport.com for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQXh8W96ugw According to the freecreditreport.com entry on wiki, they overdubbed his thick French/Canadian accent for the commercials in America. Leave it to...

Epiphone Hummingbird VS Alvarez AJ60s,Carvin Cobalt 250

I picked up an Alvarez AF60S off of ebay about a year go for under $100.00. Best lower end acoustic I've played in a LONG time. At the time, MF had them in the $350-400 range. It's one of my favorite acoustics right now, it sounds really full, it's well made and looks classy! Love that thing!
