    What is this Buttkicker thing?

Bass Player reviewed them a few months back. The primary use as our drummer said is to feel the low frequency not to hear it. The reviewers thought they could be useful for helping the bass and bass drum lock in really tight especially if you live onstage monitoring is not ideal. I suppose...

Green Hornet and Blue Bear advice on wiring up my AW16G

Thanks Bear and Hornet, So the 1/2 normaled option would be useful for multing signals/chanels? Yeah green wings I hang out at the AW16G site too and it has a lot of good info specific to the G but I seem to get better more informed awnsers here and at studio forums for general recording...

Green Hornet and Blue Bear advice on wiring up my AW16G

I was thinking about that as well but the reviews I have read over at Studio Forums were not very positive about the optical outs/coverters on the Tampa. I need to go back and re-read my patchbay information but I thought the point of patchbay normaling was you have everything set up as you...

Green Hornet and Blue Bear advice on wiring up my AW16G

Well I have finished six months of weekend recording desk building and I need to wire up my yet unused Yamaha AW16G (switching from 4-track cassette). I still get a little confused on the applications of normaled, 1/2 normaled and parallel patch bays. I primarily record in the bedroom and do...

Conducting research on the unusual amount of "Helfpulness" on this board.

APL, My sincere thanks for the use for cats link! I have tendonitis now in my index finger....One thing i did not like is there is not enough cat left even for a caserole or a side dish. Someday I will start my Free to Fry nonprofit organization wich will unite the hungry and homeless people...

My breath smells like cats....the strange thing is my wife keeps bringing them home and they just keep running away. How are they getting out of the house anyway?

What do guitarists use for drums?

On a more serious note... Has anyone out there tried to use the Boss DR-5 with the MIDI out to trigger something like Fruity Loops etc? I have the DR-5 and like it for ease of use and portibility. Sound wise on the DR-5 there is not enough dynamics (four levels of "loudness" with various...

What do guitarists use for drums?

I love to use Drummers for drums but I only get about a four beat click on the drummers head and they start moving. Then I have to chase them around the house trying to reposition the mic until I run out of mic cable. It just NEVER works. :D :D

    M-Audio Octane

Talyorguitarman, I can't speak for the Octane but I have had the same problem with the search function since the new interface. I only get results from the last week or two and I don't get the search options I used to. Also I am another G-Man (AW16G). What is up with the search function (or...

Are Jade Audio brand cables good?

Cliff, I tried the GC route to see if they could order the Jade Audio and they offered to try to match the price with Hosa but could not go quite that low. Besides I had heard so many complaintes about Hosa I just decided to go with the Jade. Probably the same quality but I wanted to give...

Are Jade Audio brand cables good?

    Djl

DJL, I re-read the post and honestly my first impression (based on previous threads regarding your dislike of Alan Hyatt) was the same as everyone else and I took it as sarcastic and crass. It may have been an honest question on your part and optimistic about the raising of money for the...

    thumb technique slap

Personaly I don't try to slap the D and G strings...alot of what you hear is "slap and pop". I only have 4 string basses but I slap on the E and A strings but "pop" on the D and G strings by pulling the D and G strings away from the body and letting them snap back against the fret board. As...

    MR8 and Fruityloops

I may be wrong but with all my research on getting FL to record my midi files frm the DR-5 I remember someone on the FL Forum saying that "FL will not slave to another device" FL has to be the master. You might try the FL Loosp talk forum and do a search on MID or MIDI Controlers. Good luck FL...
