I think for hardcore or in your face singing, dynamic mics would work better, like Shure beta. Condenser mics are pretty sensitive.

You sound pretty good! If you are looking for ways to improve, I think you just lacked that emotion a bit. It is as if your just saying/rushing the words. You can just feel the emotion and meaning of the song in the original version. I think it may come better if you sing it a bit more softly...

Also AVID was delisted from NASDAQ last year. So they aren't doing great for sure. Maybe all the subscription and cloud stuff changes things for better.

The subscription and licensing started in Jan 2015 if i read it right. So pretty recent. It is another way to milk money and fight against piracy, just like adobe acrobat.
