phil...is the subwoofer mic all that it is talked up to be? the biggest improvement i've experienced was simply using a quality mic that is was meant for a kick drum...but the woofer app is intriguing to me...

cool...no reverb! it's neat how you can tweek things to achieve something in a totally different way...no doubt keeping the reso head on gives some boominess to the kick! what kind of bass mic are your using?

my kids have a cb...you'll have to assemble everything...i think for a seven year old, it is fine...however, if they show serious interest, you'll be upgrading in a few years. my daughter (who is 8) could probably get on a big kit now...or much closer than my 5 yr old.

travis...this has been the most confusing purchase that i've ever been a part of!!! i went back to gc yesterday and listened to the m-audios and krk's again...this time the m-audios sounded good to me (the highs and mids were very clear compared to the krk's)...AND the lows came out better than...

i purchased some 603's a while back, but have not recorded w/them yet...i'm using them live tonight...at setup yesterday, i thought they sounded pretty good.. phil, nice sounding drums...i love some reverb on the kick :p ...makes it sound bigger :)

great place for speakers....(out of the way!).....i like my wuhan! i've had it for years....i toy w/getting one of these 12 or 14's (they're so cheap). but i just have a feeling that i will rarely, really have any use for it...

went and listened to more last night....i've now listened to krk's, alesis, tapcos, sampson (rubicons), m-audios, and rolands....have been unable to listen to any wharfs. so far i've been dissappointed in the m-audios based on what i've read here...especially the bx8's...the low end just did...

good point 'RM'...tuning is a definite factor...i found that i had to tune a little different than i liked to play live, etc., in order to get the sound that i was looking for...however, the mic still made a HUGE difference....

weckyl is a monster...i understand your 'inspriation/depression' comment :) :( ...there are a few others out there that give me the same feeling...
