Heritage recommends using the Mic Level input on your Interface - XLR out to XLR in - it outputs 600 Ω - with both set to unity - test your levels - BTW your Heritage audio HA73 preamp is going to add distortion and color your sound - so you have to experiment to get the correct level - I...
Digital Audio Worlstation- fancy name for recording on a Computer with software (Like Reaper, Logic, Cubase etc..) - how is the jack wonky? Is the connector failing or something?
IF nothing is wwong with unit - why not? I’d be concerned about only being able to write CD’s - other than that for what you are doing - and your work flow with which you do it - it’s fine - SM81s are good mics BTW - they might be old - but are certainly useful - I will say this - with recording...
Well I’m in the camp that everything is a song - even at that I would describe TopGun as a Musical Piece - most sound tracks I would consider them musical pieces.
I use Isolation transformers and Balance Power for the incoming power - it is a silent system completely insulated from any external noise, glitches , appliances etc….and my amps respond according - some of my older amps run at less than 120 - my Hiwatts run and sound best at 105 volts - so I...
I have ISO transformers on my electrical feeds to my room - have for years - amps and just about everything are dead quiet - I used to use a similar system live and it work work very well - but I remember the days of my Hiwatts (which were relatively quiet) and pedals - thank god drummers are loud!
Do you use a DAW in your setup?
Interesting approach. - the only thing I see with using rack effects is the limitations - which maybe be an advantage in that you have to commit to sounds - but I would never have 25 compressors on hand if I needed them for the tracks - still kind of old school...
That’s different than the OP - he wanted to electrocute himself apparently - maybe he did unfortunately - he certainly wasn’t listening to the advice he was given - he also said he was sick - I hope nothing happened to him.
Bass at 15khz? Do you mean Mids at 1.5Khz? Bass is sorta omni directional - if he has ports on the back it would be - hence the vocal shields like devices - I would like to try it out - audio is as devious as most people think.
I would put the desk on the French Window side - you don’t necessarily have to hang a curtain on it then - how high is the ceiling? - a Diffusion panel above the desk would be good too - something like this one.
It’s a really cool retro 70s song to me - reminds me of the singer songwriter era - great job - the only thing I hear it is a little too quiet to me - and if you wanted to fix a couple of the vocal cues - maybe - there is a lot of charm in the delivery.
One way is to duplicate the track then null out the noise - another is surgicaly cut it out with Parametrics, Compression and other filtering - another way is to use RX11 and attack the noise headon - as @TalismanRich noted - what kind of noise (s)?
