    Woodgrain

You're not alone. I like a nice looking guitar but it's not the be all and end all. Sound and playability comes first and foremost for me. I couldn't give a toss for the grain of the wood though. I have 2 very nice sounding acoustics. They play well and record great. Colour wise, I don't like...

Recording playback sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks....

On a quick search around for other people with similar issues it was a suggestion that worked. I'll try and find the link as it was explained why.

Why Can't I Insert a Media Item on My New Install?

Install FFMPEG Codec. https://www.ffmpeg.org/ Should fix that problem. :thumbs up:

Recording playback sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks....

Try changing that setting from Mono Recording to Stereo Recording. Also, check if Software Playthrough checked in the Transport Menu? If it is, un-check it.

    Vocal Effects Presets

Trolling :laughings: How hard is it to transfer settings over from one vst to another and save Preset? I'll quit trolling now and forget about advising you in the future. Good luck with your Presets. :thumbs up:

I guess I'll go and eat worms. :laughings: On another note, you can now edit posts in here for a month as opposed to the previous time restriction of one week. :thumbs up:

    Vocal Effects Presets

You could make your own presets.

Please rate my singing, I'm a newbie :]]

Constructive criticism? Have you listened back to it yourself? That recording is practically useless for any kind of comment or criticism. Maybe someone will hear something of potential in it but I couldn't listen for more than 10 seconds. Skipping around through the track, the sound just got...

    Quantizing Drums

Nudging an erroneous drum hit in to place is not quantizing. (Is that a word?) It's audio editing. Audio editing is something the majority of people will do at some point. Others flat out won't do it and prefer to re-track and get a perfect take. Each to their own, do what you feel is right...

    Quantizing Drums

To me it seems like people that use midi drums are trying their best to humanize them and move them off the grid and those with real drums want to quantize them to the grid and make them more robotic? Especially in that heavy death metal noise thrash thing extension of music. That's bat shit...

    Never Bored

Yeah. Closer to the bridge will give you a dampened but still with sustain sound. Closer to the neck will give you a deader, more staccato sound. Experiment with placement and see what sound you like and works for the sound you want. It's a good little trick. I used it a lot before I bought my...

    Never Bored

I really like it but I'm not really getting the 60's vibe from it. Sounds to me more like a chilled out 90's Brit Pop kind of thing. Not a bad thing though, IMO. Anyway..... Mix-wise it sounds pretty good to me here. I definitely wasn't bored while listening. (I'm on my 3rd run through)...

Issues with Reaper and Guitar Rig Session I/O

First thing to try would be to uninstall the drivers you have loaded and download and install from the website. Drivers on CD's can be out of date and you'll want the latest drivers, for (hopefully) the best performance. Downloads : Drivers & Other Files | Support Start with that and see what...

    Worked It Out

After a bit of fiddling around and a week away from it, I have a new mix of this. I tried the acoustic intro but couldn't get it to gel well in the transition from acoustic to band so I abandoned that idea and went for n electric intro instead. I kind of like the way it says "You've got a shock...

    Worked It Out

Thanks Tad. The drums are actually the Pop/Rock kit. The Tom is the one thing that annoyed me about the drums I just couldn't figured out why it sounded so bad, even with all the bleeds and everything turned off. I changed the kit to the Original Mix of the Pop/Rock kit and it sounded much...

Zedd - I Want You To Know ft Selena Gomez (Eschatron Remix)

Well said SC. Deceptively getting people to vote is not really a good way to go about it. Putting up a file for us to listen to with a link to vote after, if we like it and should we choose to do so, would've garnered better results. As it is, you don't get my vote. Maybe learn from this for...

Switchfoot - Dark Horses Cover (Rock)

As above, I thought this was really good. The only thing that really let it down for me was the drums. As you say, they are virtual drums (the bane of home recording) and here they sound very robotic. Some tinkering with the velocities and humanize function, if you have one in your midi editor...

    Battle

When I first looked at the timestamp of 9.36 I thought the worst but I was pleasantly surprised. I can't offer anything more, mix wise, that hasn't already been added previously. I just really enjoyed the track from start to finish. I'm a massive Floyd fan so this is my kind of music for a...
