    "Fortunate Son" (CCR) interpretation

I like it and think it sounds pretty good so far. The only thing that really stood out for me was the long build up to the drums. I would probably have them come in at the solo part so they have more time to establish themselves in the song before the wind down in the finale. They just seemed...

    Doubled up midi notes

I never thought of that. I just assumed that if you played it once it would be no bother to re-track it. You could try holding down CTRL and clicking all the notes you want from the piece (It will miss out the little ones) and then Cut/Copy them all out. Select all the little ones and delete...

    Doubled up midi notes

Once you realised why it happened and how to stop it in the future, surely the quickest way to fix it would be to re-track the part? That's what I would do anyway, depending on the length of the part, how many notes are played/effected by it, etc. If it was a bit of a fill for 30 seconds or so...

New ballad - "When You're Here"

I enjoyed the song too much to really concentrate on the mix, it all sound pretty f'ing good to me. Personal preference, I'd probably drop the Electric Piano and guitar solo down a touch but it wasn't a mix killer. Fantastic song, mix, performance. All round :thumbs up:

The Alice mic - profect , firts time i do this

I'd say take another look at that picture and take a guess why it's now working. That soldering deserves a WOW! Get a new board for it and practice your solder skills on the old one in the meantime.

    Really Basic Mastering Question

I was going to say exactly the same. :thumbs up:

Chavez -- Unreal is Here (Cover). Need help!

For me the backing tracking sounds kind of lo-fi, garagey, while the vocals are trying to be something different, maybe more modern and don't fit in with the backing. They're are also much much louder than the rest of the track. I would take them down quite a bit to make them blend better. I...

    Worked It Out

I'm still recording tracks with my friend for some kind of album although it's been going slowly lately for one reason or another. This is a work in progress that I started a couple of days ago working around a demo track he recorded for me back in 2014. As of today, 1st July, this is all just...

Newest song--Let's see if my ears are improving.

I think this sounds pretty good (3rd mix) and can definitely hear that you're improving in your recording. As I'm late to this and most things have probably been covered in the comments already, the only thing I would suggest is cut some of the highs from the Acoustic. They are in the same...

    Sunrise - Original

Listening to the latest mix (above) and comparing it to my memory of the first mix I heard, this one sounds much better. Everything is nice and clear and in it's own space. The vocals are sitting sweetly on the top as they should be. (You voice reminds me of the singer from The High Strung every...

    A song about Jupiter v2

I remember this from the last post. Sounds great with the new drums on it. Brings the track alive a whole lot more. Not a fan of instrumentals but this one managed to keep me interested for the duration. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing :thumbs up:

    My Little Box of Wires

This almost sounds as if you're pushing the Master too hard? I agree with all the above. The guitars are a little over powering for the track and bury the vocals a bit. The drums sound 'pounding' (for want of a better word) to me, especially the Toms. Bring the guitars, drums and bass back a...

How many of you use pitch correction for your own vocals?

Never used pitch correction on anything. I'm pretty happy with my shitty voice. It'll do. Only has to please me. I have time stretched a few vocals here and there though (not the same thing I know) but mainly for effect rather than vocal correction. :thumbs up:

The guess what it is thread?

Back in the early 90's I had an old 1973 ARIA that looked like that. Bolt on neck, tailpiece and floating bridge. Made in Japan. Nice guitar but a bastard to keep in tune. If I remember right it had a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Gave it to a Macmillan raffle in the end. :thumbs up:

Yeah. I have a similar thing to switch between my 2 sets of speakers. A cheap and easy way to do it :thumbs up:

Very simple question: Which desk is this?

Not the same but very similar, if it is any help. Quiklok Z-600 Project Desk or this one...... Studio RTA or these. (With a pull out tray) Zaor Miza 61 Zaor Miza 88 There are a few of them that are in the style you want. :thumbs up:

FOR SALE! Seriously beautiful music desk for legit home studio - 2,800 Or-Best-Offer

Have you put this on eBay? I think you'd stand a better chance on there than on here. I seriously doubt anyone around here is going to spend that much money on a desk. Most people build their own to suit. Good luck with it.

    let me see your studio!

It is a good room for me. Although attached, it's away from the house at the back of a long extension giving me a lot more freedom, time-wise, as to when i can make a noise. I'm a bit of a night owl and in this room I can make a reasonable amount of noise all through the night without anyone...
