Little Billy Blue - too many fx? (everett/mesa/nt1/603/art/rnc)

Your signal chain is enviable and you are using the equipment to its highest degree. What struck me more was the quality of the songwriting. You have a potent combination going there. I'll be looking for more...................

    uhm... . . . ... ... . . . ... a cold song i just finished

I've become a big fan over the last few months. I find it very interesting how your style has improved to my ears since I first encountered your music. A lot of the more recent stuff I've heard is simpler than some of the earlier songs but a lot more direct IMO. I like reading the lyrics as I...

    Acoustic # 2 - Isn't it a Lovely Day

your songwriting skills are very sharp. I like the vocal harminies, very classy......... For some reason this reminds me of something Erland might have written. The piano part was a pleasant surprise, VERY well done. A bit gloomy for my taste though :D Just Kidding:)

    Please Don't Drive Drunk

Your field recordings are getting better with the infusion of gear. This sounds sweet thru my monitors. I t doesn't have the harshness of a lot of the 1 mic recordings you have made. That vocal mic sure sounds sweet on you and the harp. The guitar sounded sweet thru the mxl 57 too. Your doing...

    math rock

Sorry, no mix comments, but I think you should continue to pursue music because the writing is there. The rest will come as your equipment gets better. Definitely persue different ways to record guitars. Distortion guitar is really tricky to get recorded. Generally less is more when it comes to...

    Think Of You

I really like the song and the vocal performance. I fail to see what the big deal is with the electric guitar solo. I like the contrast between acoustic and electric. I would have done the leed work with a LOT less distortion though. Overall VERY well done.

    Quirky Christmas Song

This song reminds me of some of the young singer-songwriters making their mark these days. I liked the use of the sliegh bells. Very unique take on acoustic lead playing here. Very Respectable effort on this, Cudo's to you sir.

    Terre en danger

I don't know quincy, I'm generally saying that songs are too long but this song did not bore me at all. Probably because Jack's story-telling ability is very strong. I only wish I understood the language:D Like the other songs I have heard from you this one has a high production value. The...

    This one's called "Smoke Alarms"

I realy like the groove you got going in the verses. The chorus is fairly standard stuff which works well with the verses in this case. Very good work. Listening on headphones so I won't make mix comments. I usually don't anyway:D

    **New Blues**

This one is called Road to Recovery. http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2989&alid=-1 I have a section of high guitar in there that I am concerned about. I have had comments that the high guitar sounds like a practice amp. I think I had better fingering on this track but U be the...

    New song with a Walrus

I think the best thing that could come of this is for you to try and get signed to a recording deal. Then you could take your considerable songwriting ability and mate that with recording pro's to produce saleable music. If anyone has a shot it's YOU:D Thanks for the listen Erland
