Water damaged loudspeaker and drum kit

One tom and the bass drum got really soaked. I have put a fan on them. It's not going to freeze the next days. This is what happened. A large water pipe has been frozen and broke right above the ceiling of the one room we use to practice, imagine the amount of water coming down. Our neighbour...

Water damaged loudspeaker and drum kit

Same for the wet loudspeaker? Leaving it in the garage and no dehumidifying bags?

Water damaged loudspeaker and drum kit

We had a big leakage in our repetition room today. Brought all kind of stuff home to let it dry. I opened the electronic devices and luckily water did not get inside. The entire drum kit got wet. We separated the heads and metal components from the drums to dry everything with cloth. Right now...

Does it mudd out in the mix with the same sound for rythem and lead?

The Vox VT30 models 22 different amps so it shouldn't be much work trying if two identical or two different tones work best, right?

    Mic stand alternatives

Check the manual of the audio device if you can place stuff on top of it. Some rackmount devices need 1 unit space above it for ventilation. Also, when your laptop and interface are simultaneously on there will be heat from both devices between them.

    Mic stand alternatives

I guess you don't want glue residue from the duct tape on your mics and laptop. You better use high quality gaffer tape (like Nichiban) for mic-to-laptop-attaching applications and remove it after use.

TASCAM US 1800 Clicking and Popping

I'm no native English speaker so I may be unclear sometimes. :p Foobar is indeed a media player, so I use it for playing music. With "loop" I mean a short audio segment, few hundred milliseconds I guess, repeats over and over until I switch the US-1800 off and back on. I don't really know if...

TASCAM US 1800 Clicking and Popping

Yesterday the US-1800 got in a loop again, while Foobar2000 was playing music. I copied some files (1,4gb) from one place to another on my internal HDD (SATA2 Hitachi Deskstar 7K2000) when it happened. The only reason for this to happen I can come up with is that the audio files I was playing...

    Best Pre-Amp Under $150?

I can see how pro studios don't rely on relatively cheap gear, but I don't think hobbyist need the same quality and durability. A pro might say a $150 preamp is worthless for everything while a home recordist has years of good use with it.

    What monitors do you use?

I've got Hitachi speakers, from the company that makes excavators and hard disks. They're rather old, made in West Germany. I guess not really high end. http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/101525768/Used_Excavator_Hitachi_UH07_7.jpg If you know how to make these, why not make some speakers?

TASCAM US 1800 Clicking and Popping

I didn't have any clicks since I choose the US-1800 driver in Audition. That was with 9 tracks with CPU heavy effects like reverb and chorus. I was even running both AVG antivirus and Vuze with 120 torrents. If I have any more issues I'll let you know. :)

TASCAM US 1800 Clicking and Popping

I got the USB controller but I couldn't get the US-1800 to work with it. The control panel kept saying something like "no device connected". Now I have it connected to the onboard USB port and the rest connected to the PCI USB controller. In Audition I now have the US-1800's driver selected. I...

TASCAM US 1800 Clicking and Popping

I just took a look at Auditions hardware set up. I see there's a driver called US-1800. I didn't figure this would be an ASIO driver, that's why I was using ASIO4ALL. I don't have time to test it now, so I'll do some tests tests tomorrow and see if this fixes my issues. "What do you mean by the...

TASCAM US 1800 Clicking and Popping

2.5gHz dual core CPU and 3.25gb DDR2 RAM. I have Win7 64-bit installed on a SSD. Lots of unnecessary services are turned off but I still had other software running in the background. Usually this is no problem but I could try turning everything off including internet and AVG realtime scanner...

TASCAM US 1800 Clicking and Popping

Got my US-1800 last week. I also ordered a USB controller but it hasn't arrived. Had some clicks playing multichannel, none recording but I've only recorded two tracks simultaneously so far. It also crashed a few times using Foobar2000. I hope the controller will fix these issues. I have a...

I second that. Audition runs smoother on newer PCs. It has more functions, but I guess most essential tools were already in CEP.
