Putting a bass heavy song on the last minutes of a vinyl?

In the sixties, music never had bass as loud as some music nowadays does, so they could easily get away with panning it all the way to one side.

    Overdrive for riffage

Mostly the first one, but I've included some more I like. Karma To Burn - Thirty Four Melvins - Joan Of Arc Fistula - Destroying The Master's House With The Master's Tools High On Fire - Rumors Of War

    Overdrive for riffage

I don't know man. All the videos on Youtube I've checked seem to have a kind of boxy buzzing tone on everything but the lowest gain settings. I'd give it a try if any local guitar shop has it but chances are pretty slim.

    Overdrive for riffage

I'm going to try an EHX East River Drive next week, it's said to be an Tubescreamer clone with somewhat more low end.

    Overdrive for riffage

Haha, the word overdrive is even in the thread title. :P Anyhow, I like what I've heard from the Rat on Youtube so I might give it a try some day. Thanks for suggesting it :)

    Overdrive for riffage

I've checked some videos on Youtube. Isn't the Rat pretty high gain? Perhaps with the gain turned down it can work similarly as an overdrive but with fatter tone.

    Overdrive for riffage

I'll try eBay. What's the difference with new ones?

    Overdrive for riffage

I've heard of that one, never tried it though. My guitar is at the shop now, they're installing new pick ups (humbuckers aren't Fenders strong point...) and the bridge is being moved backwards to get compensation right with B tuning. Perhaps I can try a Rat when I go pick up the guitar.

    Overdrive for riffage

I have my guitar tuned down to B and I like to play heavy riffs in a stoner doom style. I currently use a combination of overdrive from my Vox V810 and power amp saturation from my Ampeg GVT15H using an attenuator. I like how I maintain dynamics unlike when using for instance my Big Muff. I...

    Thrown together songs

I don't write lyrics, it's all instrumental. I really got to work on transitions. Often when I write something, it sounds like one sections ends and another starts instead of it being more fluid.

    Thrown together songs

When I (try to) write a song, I tend to put different sections/riffs/schemes together, which sound just like that; different (sometimes unrelated) things put together, instead of sounding like a whole. Any tips for making compositions sound less thrown together? :)

    Software for drawing room

I am looking for software to easily draw a plan of a room. I have a pretty complex room, with an odd shape and lots of columns. I would like to enter dimensions of walls instead of drawing lines by hand and guessing how long to make them. I hope my question is clear :) Freeware software is...

    Glass or rock wool

Thanks for your response. OBI is an European chain indeed but they aren't the Netherlands. We have other chains, probably pretty much the same. The €10 stapler I mentioned is a staple gun, not an office type stapler. You mention treating the corners. I was actually thinking to start with the...

    Glass or rock wool

Do you think I should keep looking for a heavier rock wool, is that why you suggest an OBI? I don't live too far from Germany, so it's a possibility.

    Glass or rock wool

This is way too complicated for me :p The Rockwool for sale in my local DIY store has a density of 46kg/m3 or 2.9lb/ft3, I guess that's a bit light but I hope it's good enough. Can't find any such information about the glass wool. This side of the world lacks those stores indeed, but I just...

    Glass or rock wool

Perhaps I should have started reading this sticky thread https://homerecording.com/bbs/general-discussions/studio-building-acoustic-treatment/small-room-acoustics-365127/. It says "Get what is available". I guess I go with glass wool. Another question, can I glue fabric to the slabs? I don't...

    Glass or rock wool

Just moved in with my girlfriend and acoustics here are horrible, it's like I'm in a bathroom all the time. I want to treat the walls with slabs of mineral wool, cover them with thin fabric and mount them in such a way that there is some space between the slabs and the wall. A local DIY store...

Looks like it got melted. I don't like it.
