    Devices with ADAT I/O

On the back of the RME Fireface 800 there are two ADAT I/Os. I have one port connected to my synth. I'm trying to decide what to use the other ADAT I/O for. I was hoping to find maybe a stereo or four channel device so I can route some outboard gear. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Rez

    grip posture

The more you know... "The more you know, the more you're worth" Have you guys ever heard of the saying? My philosophy has always been "you can learn something from everyone". There are several "known" grips. My advice is to try each one and see which works for YOU.

    Shirts/Merchandise

Hey Az- we made the stencil ourselves, cut out of cardboard. Sometimes we'd put cardboard inside the shirt to keep it from leaking onto the back. The shirts we found in bulk through a friend in Chinatown, but if you do a search online I bet you find a good deal in bulk. Get the cheapest shirts...

    Let's Talk Les Pauls

i think it's important to consider what use you're looking to get out of it. I never thought in a million years I would own one (no need for status symbols, thought the prices were crazy, too small for my big hands, they're too heavy and awkward, etc.). Then I met her. A 1979 Gibson Les Paul...

    Evans vs Remo

Remo Williams? I prefer Remo, Acquarian and Attack heads over Evans. There's just something about the stick response of Evans heads that I just don't like. Guess that makes me ol skool, huh? But I have used Evans for recording sessions and I was happy with the way they recorded, so I...

    Producers

If you do all that then you're the type of "producer" that all those other jokers are pretending to be. Kudos for doing all that yourself -especially for pushing your clients to their full potential. To me that's really a big part of producing. Big kudos for sending your clients to a Mastering...

Charlie Watts- Snare and HiHat question

This kind of reminds me of the discussions we'd have back in High School. "Ringo and Watts suck" ... "Zep's drummer is better than The Doors'," etc. I say try playing their grooves and really make them work before trashing anyone's abilities. If you are able to finally play their stuff with...

Sx3 to Cubase 4 - is it worth the $200?

Worth it? Hmm... Was it worth the upgrade? The jury is still out on that one. However, when importing older projects from SX3 that I worked on for a while, I did notice a little more "clarity" in the mix. This might be do the improved compressors and EQ section, I dunno. But it was a...

    Producers

When somebody tells me they are a producer, I ask for clarification. "Do you mean "producer" or "pruhdoosah"? It's really starting to get on my nerves a bit, actually. I've dedicated most of time and energy and thoughts, (not to mention every last dime I've scraped together) honing my skills...

    Shirts/Merchandise

How we did our first run A really cheap way to do it would be to make a stencil and use a can or two of spray paint. Permanent. Disclaimer: Spray responsibly. Spraying the shirts outdoors with masks might be a good idea.

Hard Rock tune with me playing the Gretsch Renown Maples

Sounds fine Sounds just fine in the headphones - nice work. Judging from the pics I would've thought the drum sound would've been much more ambient with all that concrete. Great job on mic placement.
