    Tips on getting this tone for vocals..

    MIc height at chin level. it will get more of your chest and less of the nose. Use proximity effect (one palm distance) BUT, angle the microphone to put if off axis of the air you will blow. Use pop filter too. You ll get a rich sound without too much plosives

    preamps can "taint" the color of you recording. if you are new at this... here is my 2 cents... worry more about the position of the mics. This will have much more of an impact on your sound.

    My 2 cents... fight for performance consistency. If the singers moves away or on the side form the mic... sound will change... comping will get obvious... sounds like patchwork.

    Yes... It s called automation. It s pretty easy to do in cubase. Make sure you do it at the end as when automation is on... it gets a pain in the put to adjust volumes afterwards.

    I personally highpass everything... it results in much better definition... up to 40hz for a bass drum sometimes... 150hz for the super annoying distorted guitars that take up the whole space.

    Bass "Boom" issues in mix

    Yes your car has a bass boost. When you get define peaks of bass.... sometimes it s the room... Double check on headphones to see if it s still boomy... If it still is that means that the recording has peaks... only freqency dependent compressors (C4, suprEsser) can help you out

    Hello everybody! I m planning to buy a vocalbooth.com gold series... The thing is that it is veryexpensive and i don t know if it is worth the money... i just wanna practice my vocal and do some mixing inside. Do you thing this will be enough not to bother my neighbours? thanks a lot!
