I'm listening on some yamaha 'puter speakers (2satellites, 1 sub) the drum to guit ratio sounds excellent to me I don't hear that it needs any more "live" feel it kicks a(butt)ss to me diggin' the arrangement

thanks joro yeah, a real cello would be way cool somewhere in the mix all midi, I ran the audio out of my korg x3 into my soundcraft board, added some compression from my dbx, then into my delta 66 the fretless on the korg is kinda sweet, I added a bit of pitch bend as I recorded the bass line

    A song

some really cool stuff going on here seems to me though, that there are like three intros one from 0 to 32, a second from 32 to 52, and the third from 52 to the first verse granted, they all sound very good, but my suggestion would be to work on your arrangement here maybe eliminate one or...

    Could use some opinions!

great vox! I think a song of this style is crying out for a b3 organ pad in the mix, esp'ly in the beginning (low on the guits; b3 and vox to intro the first verse) it works as a tonal bridge between the dist. guit and the smooth lush vocal also my ears got "ear fatigue", the tune needs a...

New mix for an older song...

I would try this tune without the acu guit altogether and feature the piano the guit is fighting with the lead vocal for room on second listen it is even more distracting seems to me the guitar is doing a percussion part so why not have the snare carry the same rhythm that the guitar...

    CCM Love Song

oh yeah! right after the guit solo, I could hear a 3 or 4 part harmony vox nearly a cappella (is that a word- nearly a cappella?) this would also add some contrast by braking up the groove for a few bars definitely would benefit from harmony vox here and there cool groove

    A Love Song For Right-Wingers

harmonies are sweet, funny schtuff the piano and the vox are at odds tonally, piano eq high (and maybe a little too hot), vox eq muddy (next to the piano) but hey, just a quick fun tune enjoyed

    **I NEED your EARS**

real rockin'! great groove! love the lyrics and the gtr lead 2 is deff. better, I would like to hear the snare a little hotter, little more snap (don't know if your kit is on one track or if ea. drum is on its own track) listening... I'm hearing some timming issues in the fills, like at...

    Collaboration. Erland, Eric Henryus, Pedulist.

kickin' the mastered version does have more teeth I would maybe take a bit of the tail off of the 'verb and I loved the outro pan thingy, go figure?

    Roll With The Punches

sounds good to me I think you could take it up a notch by kickin' in some snare and kick at some point a'la "Two Princes" by spin dr's ahh, I here can hear it now "crack"

I'll try again. first song up

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to comment. I'm going to be recording with prop'heads "reason", so hopfully the drums will sound better in the future (there's no way I could get a drummer in my apt.) joro, about the intro, sometimes when I listen, I do "look" for the vox to start...

Watch it Go Down Done NEW

very catchy, good tune If it were me: I'd pull the doo's back (lower the levels), as one of the defining elements in the tune, they don't need to be this prominent in the mix and if you recorded the piano with reverb I'd tone the 'verb down to almost nothing (or nothing) and see how it...

    fanfare

reminded me of danny elfman (a complement coming from me) really great sounds loved the leslie effect (or panning) I thought the drums could use a bit more punch, because the rest of the sounds are so commanding

    New Tune for critique

"Dance..." I love this style (juke n jive) the bass is somewhat burried, the voxs need some "brightness" eq? the snare (and drums overall) are very nice, good snap, and sit well in the mix one gtr in my right speaker could be pulled back a tad (level) "Once.." loved the drums again, as...
