    Venomous (synth music)

Very warm sounding, which is not often something you can say about electronic music. Simple yet complex. Liked it.

Occupy Starbucks - political protest from Greg

Do I detect a hint of cynicism? No need to change a thing, loved it all. I wish I could do this in a month, let alone an afternoon.

The Loudness War has NOT reduced dynamic range

Forget the theory. Use your ears. The Black Box Sabbath remasters just didn't sound right, you could hear the vocals dipping and then getting louder the overall mixed was over compressed. Modern music is probably mixed with that sort of compression in mind, but it doesn't work on the majority...

    Putting It To Bed

Hi Ray, It's St Etiene (with one 't', thanks kcearl ;)

Not another Decenter tune this time

Good peformance. Like the sound overall. Liked the vocals and harmonies. Only thing I would have change was maybe a tad top end on the snare and the cymbals up a bit, but that's just my taste.

    Putting It To Bed

Like the real cellos. Would have liked the vocals a little higher. Agree, very haunting, vocals remind me a little of st ettiene (don't think that's spelt correctly). Nice and original.

    Dubstep/Electro

This sounds a lot better. the different elements standout more, a lot clearer. There seems to be more going on stereo wise from what I remember (it would be interesting to do a A/B test). The bell thing sounded a little annoying on the original, but this sounds good. Great improvement. Very good.

A few hard rock demo home recordings....

Sound very good despite the low bit rate. Reminded my a little of Pearl Jam as did Supehuman. I like the singing style and voice (allthough I'm not a fan of the thrash growley screamy thing). Big shame about the HD, would have been nice to hear some better quality versions. The live track...

I'm pleased with these 2 tracks, but I'd love to hear where I can improve

On the snare on track one, I'd have just liked some more reverb, although there does seem to be more crack than rattle, but that's just down to taste it reminds me of the snare sound on Samson's 'Head On' album. The drums on track 2 there's a cymbal that seems way out on the left and almost...

    Clean Mix: A Flat Tire

Nice growley bass. The sax appear quite up-front when it comes in, but a nice natural sound. Funky Jazzy chilled, very nice.

    Cheeky Reqest

Glad you liked the thunder. I'e loaded another version, it's not a remix, I've just played around with some EQ. It's done in headphones so I don't know how it'll translate. I noticed that my mixes sound dull compared to most of the stuff I hear here. I know it's trying to fix something that...

    Student Original

Last night this song popped into my head and I could not get it out. Not that I was that bothered about getting it out.

    Flesh and Blood

Pretty awsome. Love the vocals. Just echo whay others have said, very bass heavy, cymbals a little lost, lead guitars could do with coming up, although they might sound more balanced with the bass dropped. As I keep saying I like a bit of top end crunch on the bass. Of course it's miles better...

    Happy Halloween from Greg Munster!

Great fun. Have to agree, bright and reverby really suits. Very tight, great sound.

I'm pleased with these 2 tracks, but I'd love to hear where I can improve

Hi dynis. Liked the songs. Track 1 Snare a bit dry, liked the bass sound (I like a bit of crunch, was it a Fender Jazz by any chance?), vocals where quite dry but I liked it like that, although backing vox could sound better with more reverb. Distorted guitars could have been more upfront, maybe...

Hardcore/metal song, let me know what you think!!

Not what I normally listen to, although I do have a couple of Slipknot albums, anyways... Sounds good. For me the drum could be up a tad, although that could make the guitars sound less heavy. Agree with the comment about the top end (especially on the vox), but then I might be missing the point...

    Cheeky Reqest

Glad you like the song dynis. You should have heard the recorders on the original (I had to remove the file because of space) when I checked with the tuner they where a whole semitone or so out. I also found with the high recorder (descant) that the higher notes with just the left hand were a...

    Student Original

I think the last version sounds better to my ears. The vocals sound warmer and more natural.

    which take is better?

#1 sound more natural and warmer to me. #2 sounds a bit harsh in places. #2 is louder and at first sounded clearer with more definition, but when I brought the volume of #1 up, it think I prefered #1. There's a few bumps that are more noticable on #1, I think they're pops from the vocals, or...

Metalish - Playing with a new cab

Sounds good to me. Maybe a bit fizzy, like there's so high top end there on the rythm guitar, but not 100% sure, I am trying to find something. Like the harmony guitars. I would be happy with that sound.
