    HeartBreak or Blessing...please listen!

Is this a pre master? As far as a mix it sounds pretty good. The vocals may be a tad too loud where they are a bit above the music. The snare might need a little more compression so it doesn't get stuck behind the kick too often. Sometimes it is loud and sometimes not so much.

    I thinks it's a wrap.

I'm pretty sure I can't add anything here other than some more confidence that this song is mint at this point. Great job on the recording and the mix.

Finally me playing my Gretsch Renown Maples

Also, forgot to mention, the snare is a Pork Pie 12X5 little Squealer. I do have the matching 14X5 Gretsch snare but I like the Pork Pie one quite a bit at this time.

Finally me playing my Gretsch Renown Maples

I finally got everything hooked up tonight to record my kit. I have a 6 piece Gretsch Renown Maple. I know alot of people havn't heard me play and have only heard my programed DFHS drums so here it is, me playing. I added some guitar to it just for fun. My band practices at my house now so I...

Fake drums are sounding very real

The main thing besides you actually playing is that when you record your drums, they usually have a somewhat authentic sound VS something like DFHS. Just because alot of people use these samples, granted though they can sound different when mixed. But stuff like DFH and EZ Drummer, they sound...

Fake drums are sounding very real

I have been using DFHS and Cubase for about 2 years now and have to say it is great but I still prefer real drums. I've been in an apartment so I use what I have which is programming drums. Jamstix is also an excellent program which I have too. Now though, since I'm moving into my house next...

Another new heavy one with a bit more agression

Vocals is just the Toneport UX2 and my master compressor is Voxengo Soniformer 2.

Another new heavy one with a bit more agression

I've been getting alot of the Zakk Wylde comparisons lately. The last songs I did the vocals were a bit too loud compared to the rest of the mix so I was somewhat reserved on this one. I'm still working to get the right mixes out of this. Now I'm not sure if I need more low end on the bass and...

After 1 month of sickness I'm back with something heavy

It's Drumkit from hell superior which shouldn't be for too much longer. Once I get my kit set up I'll be using that.

Another new heavy one with a bit more agression

Three After Soundclick Page Above is the link to the soundclick music page. This new one is titled "Dream of Me". I tried to cut back a bit on the low end and keep my vocals mixed in with the music a bit better than the last too. Also made sure my double tracking was as spot on as it can get...

After 1 month of sickness I'm back with something heavy

Yea, the doubling wasn't tight enough on Happy Pill during the soft part of the verse. I gots to redo it. My chain is just guitar into toneport UX2 and then into EQ... I do 4 layed tracks though. It's gonna be awsome when I move in and have my Gretsch Renowns...

    Basic rock....

Yea, that bass drum is very big sounding. It sounds very good. It does seem like the Overheads and maybe snare could be a bit louder... Around 2:15 I thought you were going to start playing "Push It" by Salt 'N Peppa... But then it broke out of it. Is this your regularly used guitar sound that...

Need feedback on my singing abilities

Just keep practicing... One of the first steps to singing well is knowing when you are off key and such... So, since you can do that you are off to a good start. It sounds like you have a good idea of how to sing. I sing, fairly decent now a days but 2 years ago was a different story, but the...

After 1 month of sickness I'm back with something heavy

I think one thing is that I have my vocal tracks up about 1db too loud or so. I actually just use one of the pre amp models in the Toneport with a bit of EQ, not much. Some compression and a tad of reverb. The "effect" you are hearing is me doing a 2nd vocal track, natural doubling. The...

After 1 month of sickness I'm back with something heavy

Thanks. The "Stay Strong" part is a throwback to the old hardcore days, gang chants and such. I just think they are simple and fun. Believe it or not, I'm not a big Godsmack guy. But I am an Alice in Chains fan, which I guess is where Godsmacks influence comes from since they seem to sound...

After 1 month of sickness I'm back with something heavy

I just recently recorded 2 new songs with my band Three After. The drums are still DFHS until I move into my house, then the drums that get recorded will be my Gretsch renown maples that I just got. Can't wait for that. I've been sick between strep throat(twice) and bronchitus so I havn't been...

    Partisan Politics

Did you pan the guitars? They sound somewhat small. If you move to PC recording your drum machine problems could be solved with something like Jamstix that plays the drums for you. Overall it's a pretty catchy kind of song. Some sort of retro punk feel.

    I think I hit a plateau

Sounds really good man. Just curious what you used for the vocal doubling, an effect or just 2 takes. I have never found a good doubler that sounds anywhere near as good as just doing 2 takes. I agree about the snare, but that is their deal really... Kick sounds apropriate for the music, same...

    Heavy rock

Get a new drum machine... Just kidding. The guitars do sound fizzy. The lead actually sounds pretty cool though. Also the rhythem guitars just don't stand out, the bass and drums seem to be squashing them. Pretty basic straight forward stuff with some cool sounding leads.

    Melodic Metal

Sounds good to me... It's like if Lacuna Coil was good... :) Just joking, they arn't that bad... She has a great voice and the song suits her very well. Good job on this one.
