sm57 vs e609 vs OSP kick mic

well, where would you place the kick mic? i'm probably going to take the front resonator head off for recording and stick the mic just inside the drum.

sm57 vs e609 vs OSP kick mic

thanks for that. I'll probably try both the dt-610 and the e609 and see how they sound. my guess is I will probably like the e609 better.

sm57 vs e609 vs OSP kick mic

i'm getting ready to record a drum kit, and i only have these 3 mics as dynamic mics for the kick mic. i'm looking for opinions on which one i should use. obviously I am going to try all 3 and see which one sounds the best, but I wanted some other opinions if i could get them. it's a 22'' bass...

    mixes are very quiet

could you maybe explain that a little clearer? i'm a bit confused by what you mean. do you mean that all songs, before they are mastered, are super quiet and at the 'opposite end of the spectrum?'

    mixes are very quiet

I've been trying to figure this out for weeks, but whenever I have a final mixdown of something, it's too quiet compared to a normal audio CD. i know the whole debate about overcompressing/limiting the track vs leaving dynamics in (which i much prefer), but I just want my tracks to be at the...

    HELP!! with DAW build

you will see a difference with a faster speed. the fastest DDR2 speed is DDR2-1066, which is about half as fast again as ddr2 800. so if you want the highest speed, go for a different board that can support higher. a note on speed: it's very hard to see differences in speed and clock rates and...

    HELP!! with DAW build

1.) the Q6600 will be fine. the heatsink that comes with it is made by intel, and it will be fine unless you are overclocking, which you won't need to with 4 cores. 2.)asus boards are great. for the q6600 i would recommend the Asus P5N-D. but anything with a LGA 775 socket type will fit that...

Lucky Charms - First mix ever!

This is my first try at engineering and mixing a song. It's not me performing though, it's a friend and his song. Don't take the lyrics seriously, it's meant to be funny. Any feedback is welcome and very appreciated! http://www.benmeadors.com/audio/luckycharms.mp3

    Internet and Music

I think it's harder for musicians now to sell music in a non digital format (CD) and the days are gone where you paid 6 dollars for a single at Best Buy. A lot of people are moving towards offering their music for free online. Or for free for a short time. Or pay what you want (Radiohead et al)...

Rehersal Recording- 2 or 4 tracks, Mic Choice and Placement

+1. I used Naiants into a MicrotrackII to record my band for months until we got a proper board. They are very true to the actual sound, and very affordable.

    Track Sheets

My experience has been to just do what works best for you, organization wise. I just have a basic 2 column deal with track #s on one side and notes about those tracks on the other. Usually I list them in the order they come in on a song.
