Here are my non-drum-recording-guy opinions of all of the above:
Fatt - I like the hat...everything else needs some work. If that's how the snare sounds in real life then, well, you should do something about it! The kick I can feel but not really "hear". The cymbals are way too far back...
I would avoid getting a mixer if you're just needing preamps. It makes more sense and gives you more options if you use standalone preamps.

They're different types of programs. Wavelab is a wave editor/mastering program with a ton of features in that regard. CEP is a multitracking/recording application.
You could technically multitrack in wavelab using the audio montage feature, two tracks at a time. You can technically do wave...
Depending on your local regulations, there may not be a damn thing that your neighbors can do until after a certain time. For instance, around here you might as well not bother calling the cops for noise complaints until 10:00PM, 'cause they won't do squat. What your neighbor CAN do, however...
Hmm, seems like a pretty easy way to do it to me.
If you need something more automated, in wavelab 4 there is an option under Tools called "Auto Split", do you see that in version 3?

Just select the section you want and do a "copy to new window". Repeat this until you have everything divided up approximately correct, and then you can work on making clean edits at the beginning and ends of your soon-to-be new files.

I tell you what, I've designed for both and IE is simply easier and more predictable. Given a choice I think most web designers would force people to use IE :)
It may be the only product they ever got right....but it took em 4 versions to get there.

Because Nutscrape won't keep up with the times because they wait for these archaic standards organizations to make their minds up. Oh, and they also refuse to fix their buggy ass javascript interpreter!!!!!!!!

Hi, I need a few megs to throw up the audio samples for the comp cd. It needs to be real, direct space...not nowhere, mp3.com, or anything like that. It'll be transparent to the user.
So if anyone has some server space to donate for a few months I'd appreciate it. The samples are just 30...
